I thought I heard something about a dinosaur restaurant similar to the rainforest cafe'? With audioanimatronics etc.... Is it open? where is it located? Has anyone been to it? Food? Atmosphere? Is it worth it? Is is included on the dining plan? (For some reason I believe the rainforest cafe @AK is not on the plan, and wanted to be sure if this is or isn't.) Also.... I just saw that the San Angel Inn in Mexico will be closing for refirbish. Any idea how long , when they may re-open? We were planning to go there on our next trip, and hoping they will be re-opened. OH....While I'm at it.... what do you think is the most over rated restaurant in WDW? ( This may have been posted before, but I'm relatively new to the boards and LOVE it).

You heard right, it's called TRex cafe, and it's located in Downtown Disney Marketplace. It opened last Nov, I think. It is not on the dining plan, but we went in Feb and are going again on our trip in November. It was LOTS of fun! About the same prices as Rainforest. Here are some pics to put you in the mood to go!!!

And they have a build-a-dino (like build-a-bear)...Here's DD with "Tink"

Every 20 minutes they have a meteor shower, it gets dark, colored lights across the sky, and the dinosaurs go NUTS! One of the rooms is an ice cave, which you can see in a couple of the pics with the TRex skeleton.
We love it here!!!

As for San Angel, I just read a couple days ago on the boards that the San Angel renovation is being postponed. Not sure when you're traveling, but it sounds like it'll still be open through June at least. I'm so hoping it'll be open in Nov for our trip.

Whew, lots of questions in one post. I personally think the most overrated restaurant is LeCellier. Very good food, but I wouldn't care if I couldn't get in, and don't plan to try it again for a couple more trips, probably.

Sorry so long!! Hope you have a great trip!!!

It looks awesome - shame it isn't on the DP. There's some pics on this thread and even the appetizers are huge: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2143662&page=3

Most over-rated Disney restaurant I ever ate in is probably Cindy's breakfast at the castle - but that was many years ago. Also I never really understood folk going specially to the Poly just to eat at Kona Cafe. The food is nice enough but it's fairly ordinary.

T-Rex looks like a fun restaurant. We were at Disney when they were building it.

This looks fabulous!.... thank's for the great photos... I know my DS (5) will love this one. It's on my list. Too bad they don't participate in the DDP. I can only hope that changes).
I agree 100% about LeCellier. We gave it 3 chances, and were never really impresssed either. I don't know why we kept going back. :confused3 My kids didn't like it, I didn't like it. Maybe because we got the ressies, when they were so hard to get? it was always disappointing to us.

As far as CRT, we went for lunch at the castle before the characters used to be there. We haven't been back, but I don't know if it's mostly because we can't get ressies. My DD's are older and wouldn't care if we missed Cindy... and my DS's (1) & (5) don't like Cindy either.. I think they enjoyed the castle.. I don't remember the food.

thanks for the opinions..

I doubt it will ever be in the DP, it's not owned by Disney, it's owned by the same company that owns Rainforest Café.

When did the castle not have characters? My parents took me and my sister when I was 9 (so, it must have been 1988) and there were definitely characters then.

Great picitures.
I went to You Tube for some video of T-Rex. Wow. LOUD.
We're still going to try to go.

I think they used to have characters for Dinner only.. but not like they do now. Breakfast / Dinner like they do now with the pictures, the whole "package"... It was probably around 00' / 01'. They didn't have characters... Cindy used to sit in the lobby, but they didn't walk around to the tables like they do now. I'm sure I would have remembered that.. or at least had 700 pictures of my DD's when they were little with the characters. (they would have been 3 or 4 at the time..) We have a picture w/ Cindy in the lobby... Or maybe it was lunchtime.. and they didn't do characters at lunch???
