T-Rex restaurant, is it real?

DD would go nuts if there were actually done when we go in November! This is right up her alley!

Anybody have any updated news or photos? I will be down there late Sept and early Oct and I would love to take my son to it.

Thanks for any info anybody may have.

Darn, I was there 4 days ago and it's still under constuction, but I didn't have a camera with me to take some pics :(

To me it looks like it's far from being finished but Fall 2008 is still several months.

We love the Rainforest Cafe and will definitely try out the TRex when it does open.

I don't know about this one. I can't say that I've ever ridden the Universe of Energy and thought, "Wow, if only I could have lunch in here!"

I'm also not sure if DTD can handle what is essentially two Rainforest Cafes. I just hope they know what they're doing . . . .

I dont think you can call them two rain forest cafe's... Two highly themed dining options, but not two rain forests...

I have never eaten at a rainforest and have never had the urge to, but the Dinosaur one is just right up my sons alley so we will go to that one. I think they are different enough in theme that they should both do fine.

I am unashamed to admit I'm a 24 year old female who really wishes T-Rex would be open when she goes in August, and plans on going there once it's open. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Any new news? :confused3 We'll be there mid- Sept and hoping it will be open!

I read about this in the latest edition of Birmbaums wdw book, it sounds great!! According to them it will have:

" lifelike dinosaurs, waterfalls, bubbling geysers & a fossil dig site. Menu extends from Jurassic Salads & Bronto Burgers to Prehistoric Pot Pie & S'more-asauruses"

They seem to think its gonna be open mid this year

Hopefully it ll be open when we go out there as i would definatly like to check it out

I am hoping for an ADR here for Dec 2008 but not sure of procedure to do this since the T-rex cafe is not owned by Disney. I assume it would be the same as making an ADR for Rainforest Cafe in DTD.

Therefore, what is the procedure to make an ADR for Rainforest in DTD? Can I just call Disney Dining at 180 day mark?

Thank you

haha... I didn't even know that there was one in Kansas City at the Legends. I might have to take my little brother there for his birthday. Though...I'm not sure if he's into dinosaurs...

Sort of next to McDonald's and the Lego store. The outside of the building structure was complete when I was there in late April. It is painted black and has some places marked for the installation of the outdoor deco. Since the dinosaurs and tables, etc. are all being manufactured offsite they only need to be trucked in and installed which should cut down on the finishing time for the inside. I would expect it to be done in time for the projected fall 2008 even if that means late November. Since so many restaurnats are full up for every meal time I doubt that T-Rex will have difficulty. Even withthe menu being very similiar (mostly just name changes) the atmosphere will be different enough to support both Rainforest and T-Rex. There are currently 2 Rainforests on property and both are pretty full whenever I've been there.

To make a reservation at RC DTD, you have to call them directly. You can get the # on their website I suppose, or I think if you call WDW-DINE they can give it to you as well.

thanks for the info! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will be open in Sept!! :)

This should be fun...are kids still into dinos ??
This would have been great back when Jurassic Park was hot.
I did hear that they are making a 4th movie though , that may spark some interest.
