My grandson is a big dinosaur fan and would love the themed restaurant. However, I am thinking paying for a group of 6 could be very, very expensive, especially after splurging for character meals etc. I am the lone banker for this operation. Is it possible to go maybe mid-afternoon just for dessert and drinks so he could get the same experience without a $200 bill?

I'm sure you can order what you want (dessert & drinks) but you will still probably need a reservation to get in. They stay pretty busy from what I've seen, but worth a try.

Yes, you could go in and order whatever you want! You could get an appetizer or two to share or just dessert. Doesn't matter. And, honestly, some of the portions are huge so sharing is easy! They have a great dessert that's for four people, but could easily feed six!

As for reservations, don't worry about it. They're not that busy at off hours. And if you can't find anything through the Disney website, just call the restaurant directly, They release a very, very limited number of reservations to Disney. But if you call you can pretty much get whatever you want for the exact time you want.

Where do I find the number to call? This is one of my ADRs that I want to change the time. We have a 6:00 ADR but we'll be going from AK to DTD and AK closes at 5:00 so I'd rather have a 6:30 or 6:45, really anything later between 6 & 7 would be better for us.

We go to either TRex or Rainforest Cafe every trip (both are owned by Landry and we have their loyalty card) and only order 2 appetizers and dessert for the 3 of us....no problem. The combo appetizer at both places is big enough for all 3 of us to share.....no we aren't stuffed but we don't walk out hungry either....just gotta do dinner later, lol.
