Arriving at the World on 11/31, early enough to have dinner but too late to waste a ticket on a park. I'd like to have dinner @ DTD and have narrowed it to T Rex and RFC. Myself, DW and DS9. Any recommendations? I want to make my ADR as soon as I can...

I have girls and the pefer T-rex. Not sure why. But I like the menu at rainforest. We are going to t-rex the first day also.

I prefer Rainforest Cafe. Great/Fun atmosphere and they have good and healthy selections too. You don't want to miss the VOLCANO!

It looks right now as if we're leaning toward T Rex. The trip itself is DS9's Christmas present so I can't really ask him (surprise), but if I had to guess... well, dinosaurs right? Man what we do for this kid.

We just did BOTH a week ago.
We really enjoyed Trex and the food was more options than RFC though both owned by Landrys Corp.
Meanwhile, not as much in the way of "show" as in RFC, its louder at RFC. Seemed to be more going on. The T Rex does a meteor show up on teh ceiling but it was not very impressive and you see all the ceiling lights, kinda silly if you ask me....
the Cave area in TRex is neat if you can sit there, it changes colors!! Your son will LOVE it.
By the way, he can also purchase (like 4.00 and up) a piece of "magma" that he'll then get to break open in a machine and Wah La a beautiful specimen inside, either purple or white crystal depending on pieces age. My son enjoyed it!!

Have a great trip....Not sure if T rex also takes advanced Reservations, but RFC does.
We enjoyed both but T rex was new for us and we really enjoyed it. And the burger was AWESOME!!!

t-rex hands down!!!!!!!!! i did a review,deff go check it out! <333

Thanks to all of you. T Rex it is. ADR made. I also found out that while the Disney site was telling me that the time slot I wanted was all booked, I called the T Rex directly and was informed that Disney only gets so many ressies, as they don't own the restaurant. They had plenty of spots left. Most people do their ADRs through Disney so those allotted fill up quickly.

T Rex is definitely better! The atmosphere is much more impressive I think compared to Rainforest Cafe. And the food was yummy! We went there our first night earlier this year and it was a great way to start the trip.

We've been to both as well...

So, I asked the experts.....my kids...

It was unanimous.....T-Rex.

We did RFC last year, so we are headed to TRex this year in December. I am already prepared to have to do the Build a Dinasour. I didn't realize that they can break Magma as well. I am sure shse will want to do that too!!! It is driving me crazy as our December trip is a surprise to DD6, so it is killing me not to be able to share the excitment with her!!!

We have been to both.., most recently T-Rex. We thought the food was very good and the atmosphere very entertaining. I would go with T-Rex. I don't think you could go wrong with either. :hippie:

We ate at T-Rex out near Kansas City. Rainforest and T-rex are close friends. Their portion sizes (and pricing) are extremely similar. Menu's might be different but we found similarities.

My girls get a MUCH BIGGER KICK out of T-Rex. I haven't been to the one in DTD--but the one in KC had a build-a-dinosaur (by build a bear company with dino's instead of bears).

I would suggest T-Rex if you have kiddos. Instead of a volcano erupting--they have a meteor shower.

Our family thinks Rainforest is overrated--as is T-rex, but not as much and we did enjoy that experience better.
