So, I managed to get a reservation. Yay!!! I know we're paying for the atmosphere, but I am wondering how the food is at the restaurant. We're traveling with my parents too, and my dad is a bit of a pain in the butt about food. He LOVES food, but he likes good food. Just wondering if he will think the food is good. He loves burgers though, and I think I read somewhere that the burgers are good. Anyway, hoping to hear from some people who have eaten there.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

THe food is ok. Burgers are good. Fish tacos are YUMMY!

The food is fine, nothing special. On par with Rainforest Cafe which I always think of as the better end of chain restaurant (Fridays, Applebees, etc.) type food.

If you get a bunch of reviews, I believe you will find they will be all over the spectrum of very good to very bad. Burgers for your Dad.

I went to T-Rex two trips ago and my family liked it. We split a few apps and it was good (it is on par or better than rainforest). It is a bit pricy though. Also, there were kids running around and knocking into our chairs (not T-Rex's fault). the only thing that may have biased this opinion was that it was late, my whole family was tired and hungry. I believe it is worth giving a shot.

Have fun at Disney!:goodvibes

We like it, but remind your dad that its "bar food". I wouldn't get too adventurous there. My fav is the paleozoic chicken sandwich :thumbsup2

We enjoy Trex, atmosphere and food is good, not fine dining but good!!! I Love the ravioli w/ lobster.

I think we'll try it, even though it's on the expensive side. (My other option for that night was Wolfgang Puck Express). I haven't found anything in Disney that's not pricey, but this sounds like fun. As long as my dad can get a burger, we'll be OK! Thanks for the responses.

Our family eats at T-Rex every trip to Orlando, and we have also been to the one in KC.

I really like their ribs (same as Rainforest Cafe) and chicken combo. Tried the nachos but didn't think they were anything special. You won't want appetizers, though, because you will definitely want to save room for their big chocolate dessert....can't remember what it is called, but it is the T-Rex version of the Rainforest Cafe Volcano dessert.....enough to share for the whole table and well worth the cost and the whole meal in my opinion.

The food is just fine. It not great but we've never had a bad meal at T-Rex or Rainforest but it not the food you go for. Prices are sky high too. The kids love it too. Save room for desert.

We really liked it and have been there twice. It is similar food to the Rainforest but we like that too!:)

Having been 3 times, and again in Aug. I would say it's not that great. I have had an extremely spicy chicken sandwich, the burger, and an icky chicken salad sandwich last time. I dont' know. I'm still trying to find something that I like. My DS loves the atmosphere so much though, we have to go back each visit. Maybe i'll just get an app or something this time around...

We have been twice and have it scheduled again for May - We definately don't go for the food. It is waaaay overpriced (shocking, i know;)) DH gets some chicken sandwich that he likes - I had the fish sandwich last time. It was terrible. 2 cups of lettuce and one sad little fish stick. :sad1: But our kids absolutely love the atmosphere - so we are going again..but I am obviously going to try something new.

OK, so in considering all of the helpful responses I received, I am wondering...I have three little girls. They like dinosaurs, I suppose, but they aren't like little boys who LOVE dinosaurs (or most little boys that I know, anyway). Is it still worth it? I asked my older daughter if she'd like to go to a dinosaur restaurant and she said she would. But I know it wouldn't be as exciting as if we were dining with the princesses! ;)

Any thoughts?

We went last August and the food was decent...nothing over the top, you are definately paying for the show and sight seeing within. I had a disney visa reward card to use, otherwise I don't think I would have paid out of pocket. Our daughters were 12 and 7, and they both enjoyed it. There is a lot to look at!

I really wanted to like the food here, I was so excited about visiting T-Rex. My nacho's were just plain nasty, they had something in it that tasted bad, never could put my finger on it.
My dh said his ribs were just ok, not worth the money paid out for them. And my dd really liked what she got ( can't remember what it was).
So I guess the moral of the story is that it's the luck of the draw. I was glad I went, to me it was a one time experience. Go and have fun with it.

We have eaten there twice and enjoyed it both times. My DH ordered the fried shrimp, my DS the chicken fried steak, my other DS the tortellini dish, and I ordered the wooly mammoth chicken dish. We really loved the french onion soup!

I don't know what your ressies or plans are besides T Rex. But I would def try to fit in a character meal with those mentioned princesses. If it were between say a buffet at 1900 pf and Cinderella or T Rex, I would def dump T Rex.

My DH insists on eating here the night before we check into our WDW resort every trip. He always gets the chicken fried steak and while Im not a chicken fried steak kinda gal, Ill tell you its so tender on the inside and the crust is light, crispy and seasoned perfect and the steak is HUGE!

I got the Paleozoic chicken sandwhich one yr that was good, chicken, cheese advacado, lettuce, tomato and some kind of sauce on a fried pizza dough

Last yr I got the tribal tacos, grilled mahi mahi was amazing! Seasoned perfectly! Since then I have tried fish tacos several other places and find them bland and long for Trex..

I get the Cottontini each time, tropical cocktail poured over cotton candy..YUMMY!
