T-Rex cafe???

My son LOVES dinosaurs and I would like to take him here on our next trip. Do we need reservations?

when you are going. We went on a Sunday in June at 6:00 PM. There was probably a 15 minute wait. When we left there was a 45 minute wait. I would expect a higher chance of waiting during heavy tourist seasons and on weekends since DTD is visited by local families more often.

The good news is that you can usually get a priority seating within a reasonable period before your trip. Disney handles a small percentage of their tables for reservations. (This is fairly common for DTD restaurants.) It is much easier to call the restaurant directly to get a table. Many people don't realize this option is available.

PP is correct...call directly and you'll have no problem getting in. We've gone a # of times for lunch and there were always quite a few open tables. You may also go to Rainforst Cafe's(same parent company, Landry's) website and print out a calendar good for a $.99 cent kids meal. Food & atmosphere are both pretty good, enjoy!

Will that work at T-Rex? I saw those reward calendars on the RFC website, and wondered if they could be used at T-Rex since they are the same company. That would be awesome if that's the case!

Reservations never hurt, but like previous posters have stated, you can get seated in a reasonable amount of time as a walk up, depending on the time of year and the time of day.

Another thing that helps is to have a Rainforest Safari Club card. You are given priority seating on arrival, guaranteed reservations (based on availability), discounts (10% off 4 entrees) and special email offers. We have had one for several years and it has really been great when we take our DS to Rainforest Cafe or T-rex. You can also use it at some of the other Landry's locations. Landry's also has a Landry's Select Club. I don't know how this works at T-rex, the web site says you get priority seating points that accumulate and rewards from those points. We also have this card but have never used it at T-rex. Unfortunately, I think you have to go to either a Rainforest cafe for the Safari Club or other Landry's locations for the Landry's Select Club, I don't think you can get either card over the internet. If you are near a Rainforest Cafe, I would imagine it would make for a great outing with the children, they almost always seem to love the place.

Yes, the calendars are accepted without any problems. The Safari Club cards mentioned are not available online.

We went to T-Rex in August 2010. I called T-Rex directly to make reservations about a week or two before our trip. We also printed off the $.99 coupon for Rainforest Cafe. We asked our waitress if it was possible to use the coupon and she checked with a manager. Sure enough, it was no problem!

My two oldest boys (7 and 4 years old at the time) loved this restaurant. We are going back again this August. Cant' wait! It is such a fun place with all the dinosaurs.

Also, if you have a Discover Card, you can get a Rainforest Cafe gift card with your cashback bonus. It can be used at any Landry's restaurant including T-Rex.
