T-Rex Cafe 7/22/09 PICS! BEST MEAL ON TRIP!!!! Updated with allears.net descriptions!

SO...this restaurant is just overall amazing. Both the atmosphere and the food is just EXCELENT!!!! There's always something to look at, and there's a meteorshower every 15-20 minutes. They us right next to the fishtank,so we had an awesome view of every other room.





*For an appetizer we ordered the Dexter's Dual dip that came with tortilla chips,shrimp&artichoke and queso dip.($10.59) Oh my gah the shrimp&artichoke was delicious!!! I didn't really like the queso, but my boyfriend did

*For my entree i got the mammoth mushroom ravilois that came with a big wedge of garlic bread ($19.07) MY NEW FAVORITE PASTA DISH EVER!!!!!! It was so rich,creamy,hot,and omg sooooo delectable!!! I began to get full after the first 4 raviolos because it's a very buttery,rich dish. OMG SOOO GOOD! I highly reccomend this!! I also got the "shark water" ($3.49) which is really just sprite with coconut syrup and a cherry. VERYYY coconut....ish.

*Bhimal got the Blacked fish tacos ($19.07) which had mahi mahi in it i think,with black beans and rice. He very much enjoyed this dish. Idk how it was in my own opinion because i didn't try it, but it looked like it had a lot going on

Have to agree about the food at Trex is awesome. We were there on the 16th and the ribs are to die for! They fall of the bone with no fat to speak of. DH had the boneyard meal, DD14 had cheese flat bread which was very good. I had quesadillas which were very yummy. But the best was my DD12 filet. This cut of meat was soooo tender and the flavor was better than my husband's filet at Le Cellier eariler in the week. It came with mashed potatoes which were awesome. I would definitely recommend getting and ADR for this place. If you go before 6 on a weeknight you could get in without one but weekends are crazy.

Totally agree, T-rex is awesome! DH had the ribs-he said the best ribs he has ever had. I had the country fried streak-sooooooo yummy and HUGE!!!

Thanks for the review and pictures. Question: I watched your videos but it's sort of hard to gauge from that - how loud is the meteor shower? DS4 is a little unnerved by the loud noises. He barely tolerates the thunderstorm in Rainforest Cafe. Can you make any sort of comparison or describe the noise level?

I couldn't even really hear it from where i was!! (i was seated by the fishtank),the only way i knew it was happening was when the iceroomturned read! But i guess it depends on where you sit really

its a GREAT restaurant at downtown disney made from the people who brought us rainforest cafe except imho the food and atmosphere is soo much better here! and i LOOOOVE rainforest cafe!

Thanks for sharing your review! I just called and made ADR's for our trip in Sept. (ds loves dinos). For those that are considering making an ADR, if you can't find a reservation through Disney, call the restaurant directly. I had no trouble at all getting a great ressie by calling T-REX (there were none available through Disney for the evening I wanted).

We ate there on 7/31/09 and it was great. I was surprised how good it was because usually this type resturant isn't very good. I had the Paleozoic Chicken Sand and it was fabulous!!! DH had a burger and he said it was good also. DD had the mac and cheese, she didn't like it and wouldn't eat it I thought it was ok.

I almost got the chicken sandwich!!!!!!!!! But then i saw the ravioilos...trustme, next time try the raviolois THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!
