Our trip begins 10 November. I logged on last night to make sure all was in order to get FastPasses this morning at 7am (September 11 was 60-day Mark for resort guests).

When I logged on last night, the FP calendar was open through November 13. I was able to get passes for days up to and including November 13. So, I got passes for the days of our trip (November 10 to November 13).

Now, here’s the downside. There were simply no tickets available during that timeframe for a number of attractions - app said no tickets left, standby may be available.

These attractions included slinky dog, flight of passage, seven dwarves - the usual suspects.

So, why was the early access available? Also, why are things already filled before people should have access? This doesn’t bode well for 30-day window guests. And now, why is access not available this morning???

Because people can book for their length of stay at 60 days out from arrival day. So people theoretically could be booking for each day 10 days before the 60-day window opens, which is why most people are reporting needing DHS and AK days to be 60+3 or 60+4 for FoP and SDD.

Those rides are very tough to get in the first 3 days of your trip, that's why the advice is to schedule AK and HS toward the end of your trip.

Do you have more than one trip booked? Sometimes that opens it early. No clue why it isn't open for you today, but others arriving before you can book for their whole trip.

I did try to book the popular ones for the last day of our trip (four days out). But, alas, no luck. I've had no luck during trips this past April, as well as a trip we're taking in late-September. It's been very frustrating. Even using the best techniques, no dice. I really feel badly for those booking at 30 days...

Yes, we did have more than one trip booked (September trip, November trip). Does that mean it was open from our September dates? If so I missed a big opportunity to book earlier and finally get those attractions we can never book.

It means your September window rolled into your November window and opened this November trip one day early.

Yes, you could have booked for this trip at 7:00a yesterday.

"Does that mean it was open from our September dates?"

no, two trips close together like that sometimes opens it one day early. So maybe you've reached the total number of days you can book?

It bears repeating - keep an eye on park hours, and if they are extended, more FPs may open up the next day. We've got an offsite trip in Nov and that is what I will be doing. (Hoping the hours aren't extended before our 30 day window opens).

what's the best way to keep an eye on the park hour changes?

If you have an onsite stay booked and a second onsite stay booked after that the window will always open a day early because of the rolling fast pass window. I'm going to be there at that time and got all the rides you mentioned being sold out, but I was booking for days 4-6 of my trip so that might be why it was easier to get them. I find looking before getting there doesn't really show additional fast passes unless the park hours are changed, then they add more. But once you're actually in the park try refreshing a lot, I've gotten a lot of hard to get fast passes that way.

I have read this before and do not understand "why" it opens one day early. I am confused by what the "rolling fast pass window" means.

When you have an onsite stay, say in September, the 60 day fast pass window opens. Then every day after your stay will become available to you to book something one day at a time. Because you have this onsite stay booked, if you have another booked in October since the window is open it triggers your next window to open. So from your first stay all the way until your next stay you could book fast passes if you want and have tickets attached to your account. So for future trips it's good to remember that your window will open a day earlier than it is supposed to if it's your second trip. And that rolling window is going to continue until you check out of your second onsite stay.

Truly no one really knows WHY it opens early other than it's just the way the system works.
They don't turn OFF the 60 day window when your first trip booking window is over. For whatever reason. It says on.

This is one of the best features of Touring Plans. If you track crowd levels for the days of your trip they will send you an alert if the crowd levels change but most importantly also if the hours change.
You'll have plenty of time to catch the FP too, since it has always taken several days for Disney to dump the additional FP into the queue.
