DCL just sent out an email that Nouméa, New Caledonia is back on the itinerary. Shore excursions will be available to book "soon".

We did the inaugural Hawaii to Sydney cruise back in 23 and Noumea was our least favorite port. There's some neat WWII history there if you're in to that (I am), but there's not a huge variety of excursions and the port is secured, so you can't just get off the boat and wander, you have to take a shuttle to "town," which consists of a couple of blocks worth of tourist traps and a "craft market" where all of the stall sell much the same thing.

Thanks for the info. The shore excursions are pretty limited and all but 2 were sold out in very short order. We were hoping to just take a cab to the beach, but it sounds like that won’t be happening. Another “at sea” day for us I guess

Besides our last stop already in Hawaii bon of the stops are really exciting imo. Im doing it ad a b2b wirh the Hawaiian one to see Hawaii and to enjoy aaaalllll the seadays!

Different experience for us. We were on the same sailing and absolutely loved New Caledonia. We thought it was the biggest surprise of the cruise. We took a basic city tour and thought it was a wonderful city. The aquarium was great. The view from the top of the hill overlooking the city was wonderful and some of the smaller stops we did were very nice. We came in with no expectations, and left thinking we may make a trip back just to enjoy the island more. To each his own I guess

Which tour was that! I didnt book anything cause none of it sounded appealing

We also loved New Caledonia! We took a shuttle bus from the ship to the very nice visitor’s center and then took the Lyvai Green Train tour that started there and ventured through the community. (Disney had an excursion on the Blue Train Tour but it cost more money while going to the same places). You can buy tickets at their ticket booth at the visitor center or in advance on their website.

We saw some beautiful areas and historical features, too. Then we had time to shop for souvenirs and buy some unique snacks at a grocery store across the street. We caught the shuttle bus back to the ship. We had a lovely day there. The parts of Noumea we saw were much more upscale than where we docked in Fiji and American Samoa.
