With the star wars season announced does this mean the end of SWW? Or does this mean a longer version? I only ask because I booked my villa for May in anticipation of going again since we loved it so much! Now I am worried I maybe way off date wise! Anyone have any idea on what this could mean for SWW? TIA

Hopefully they are moving it to a more bearable time of year. I stopped going to SWW because I can't tolerate the temperatures in May & June. In the early days of SWW I would typically go for 2 or 3 of the weekends it was held but as they started moving the dates to later in May and into June I just stopped going unless I was down there for some other special event.

I'm in the same spot as you, OP. I asked for time off from work already and rented DVC points so I could be within walking distance. I do understand those who want it earlier and wouldn't mind that myself, but I'm going to hate having to use the DVC points for that time and not going to SWW. And I will REALLY hate having asked my boss for time off a lot earlier than is normal. But that's life. I took a chance and probably lost. :sad1:

I agree with the previous poster- I don't think we will see a change in the upcoming year.

It better not change! We planned a trip mext year to finally do SWW and the last weekwnd of F&G. I will be pissed if its moved.

I'd agree that SWW will continue for now. I'd also guess that they will continue after the new Land is open. SWW brings a lot of people to the parks and I don't see WDW turning its back on that crowd.

Well, there is F&G and F&W at Epcot, so I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility they'll do both. Maybe they'll end up doing one in the spring and one in the fall. That would be pretty cool.

I think in the discussion they said Star Wars season would start early 2016 so I feel like this is an immediate change. I think sww as we know it maybe over. I just want some dates because of now I can change my reservation but as we get closer it would be a lot harder !

I don't think it's ending per se - I definitely think they're going to do a "spring" Star Wars season like they do with Frozen summer months. Where DHS gets star wars themed and such. The question though is whether or not the special guests or James Arnold Taylor returns to do special events. Maybe they keep them on the weekends as special events (but the fireworks and other things run all week) or maybe they drop them altogether. Unfortunately no one will really know for a few months yet I suspect.
