Sword in the Stone?

At 3:00, go to the stone. They have a ceremony there with musicians. Three people from the crowd are called up and one is able to pull it out. The photopass photog is there as well. They do a little parade around the stone with the new "ruler" of the kingdom. I don't know if it happens at any other time during the day, but my daughter was able to do it in August during this ceremony.

I didn't realize there was still any ceremony. Years ago (I think it stopped in 2006) they had a show several times a day with a Wizard (Merlin I guess!). People would be picked from the audience to participate. Of course they would have a big strong man try and pull out the sword and it wouldn't work -- and then have a child try ... and it would. Very cute. I know all the shows cost money but this one was such a nice one ... I felt bad they didn't keep it. I'll have to check it out again. :)

On August 22, we were at Magic Kingdom, my son who is 6 and 50 lbs tried it first, his cousin who is 7 and 55 lbs tried it next then the older sister who is 13 tried it and it pulled out for her. She was shocked that it pulled out for her and the 2 boys were jealous. They tried again right after her but had no luck. This was around 3:30pm.

I had never seen it actually pull out for anyone so it was pretty neat that it happened to her on her first time at Magic Kingdom.:)

My daughters tried it on 8/24. DD (9) couldn't do it. Then DD (5) pulled and up it came.

BOTH of my kids were able to pull it out in January...one after the other! I was so glad I didn't have to deal with it working for only one of them! They tried the rest of the trip and it never worked again.

This would be amazing! But also the suspense on how you know it's going to work is seriously killing me!

I know this is an old thread, but I heard a co-worker telling someone that each day one person can pull the sword and that person's family get's to stay in Cinderlla's royal suite.
Is there any truth to that?

None.

This is by no means a guarantee, but this might help to pull the sword from the stone,

1. try to see if a CM is around watching

2. A photopass photographer being there helps.

3. A lot of time the littlest or the youngest one in your group gets to pull the sword. So if you want your 8 year old to pull the sword but have a 4 year old with you, try taking the 4 year old out of the picture by having someone sit with the 4 year old somewhere.

4. Have the grown ups or older kids make a big ta do about how they surely will pull the sword from the stone because they are bigger and stronger and make sure the littlest one goes last.

I think the CMs like to pick the people that go along with the movie, where Arthur was able to pull the sword even though many other bigger, stronger men tried before him.

Again, this is no guarantee, but this is the pattern I noticed. I know there are plenty of exceptions, but again, when this question comes up on the Disboards, this is the pattern.

If we ever figure out FP+, maybe we will figure out the pattern for this.

My DS loves to try and try. He'll keep on trying!
