Switching to Main Dining

Wow sounds like there is a lot of success moving which gives me hope. I do see the benefit of second seating but my mom, son and nephew would do better on the first

Just booked onto the August 2017 Alaska cruise and called into Disney to make sure I was waitlisted. Odds should be pretty good we get in right?

On another note, how many people are seated at a table? I'm in a party of 4 and want to link up with another party of 8, do they seat 12 at a table?

Yes, they will push tables together to create a large one. Each service team serves a 4 top, a 6 top and an 8 top, generally.

Don't give up, once on the ship. We booked our last cruise 3 days before sailing. We didn't even get documents or luggage tags before the sailing. Last group allowed to board. There was NO way, they said, I could get late seating. That was not do-able with my kids (ages 5 and 3 at the time). The second day we went to the first seating and spoke with the guy in charge, and there was openings as people just don't show up for their assigned dinner (they eat buffet, they eat on the island, they eat room service, etc.) Anyhow, he knew of a family or two that were not planning to eat at all, and we got their seats the next 5 days.
