Does anyone have any experience from switching to contacts after wearing glasses for many years...

I just got contacts again from my eye doc, and I can feel them in my eye slightly. Not sure if this is all in my head and it will go away, or if there is a issue with the contacts themselves(not a good kind for me)..

Someone assure me its all in my head and will get better.:lmao:

It sounds like they don't fit right or they are too thick for your liking. Call the Dr back and they will give you another brand to try. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries to find the right one.

Switched to contacts in my late 30s. When I switched, the optometrist made it clear that her 'first choice' of contacts for me might require some tweaking. Not everyone fits contacts the same way, and if I did not care for the lenses I tried first, I could come back and she would try me with other brands/types of lenses. I did go back because I found the initial lenses awkward, and she fit me with another type of lens that I found more comfortable. Just contact your optometrist again, and explain that you don't feel comfortable. Different brands and types of lenses fit differently. Be prepared to explain what exactly you are feeling that doesn't seem right for you so that the next pick will work out better.

Yeah I may have too...whats weird, its only in 1 eye...my bad eye..the one I see hardly anything in at all...the other eye is fine..I am wondering if maybe I have a bad contact..its irritating the heck out of me...

What stinks is the eye doc is NO WHERE close by, so getting back there is a pain..gonna see if I can get my contact adjustment done at diff office..

Lets hope its just a bad lens..ugh..

You could have a small nick in the edge-it's very easy to rip or tear those suckers! Is it in the right way? It should look like a bowl when you put it in, instead of having a lip around the edge. You could also have something in your eye or the rim of your eye ( like a hair or fuzz) and it will feel like you have a dump truck in your eye.

Good luck and don't give up!! I've worn contacts forever and cannot function without them!

Does anyone have any experience with contacts for astigmatism?

My sister has worn them for years. They are weighted so they move in your eye more but other than that she loves them.

Maybe you have a astigmatism in that eye? My one eye has a slight astigmatism not enough that I need the special contact but sometime I can feel that contact in my eye.
