Switching Shoes for Water Rides?

I've read a lot about not wearing wet shoes around the park because of blisters. I've always avoided Kali River Rapids because of that, but I have decided I have to ride it. And I'm a huge fan of Splash Mountain and plan to ride it several times on my next trip.

I'm looking for a bag to carry that will hold my flip flops so I can switch before I go on these wet rides. My question is: what do I do with my sneakers when I change shoes? Do I have to get a bag big enough to hold them? I don't recall any lockers being outside of the ride to hold them, and it isn't practical to run to the front of the park to use one of those lockers (plus I would never make it back wearing my flip flops.)

Thanks for the input. I'm loving having a place to discuss WDW with so I don't drive my friends nuts!

I wear Crocs to AK. I am the geek who wears them with socks. I take the socks off for the ride. Then, if my crocs are too wet, I go by the restroom and dry one at a time under the hand dryer, then put back on my socks. I don't stand barefooted in the bathroom, I put both feet on top of the shoe that is not drying. You will love Kali River. We go the AK on the night it is open late. We do Kali River as the last thing of the day. Usually, we get to just stay on for several rides if we wait until the last hour because the crowds are reduced. The view in the evening is spectactular. You can see the steam come off the water, and the view of EE in the evening is awesome.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the great tip!:woohoo:

We went on Kali River Rapids last month and used a great tip that I had read somewhere else on the boards. We all put plastic shopping bags over our sneakers as soon as we sat down on the ride. DH and DD were completely drenched during the ride but their shoes stayed totally dry. When we were done we discarded the bags. It was a great way to keep our feet dry.

I put two plastic bags on each foot. I used the plastic bags that my daily newspaper (NY Times) comes in, and sealed it with rubber bands about half way up my calf. Also, keep your feet off the floor of the raft. My feet came out perfectly dry.

There is a compartment in the middle of the raft that has a plastic cover over it. We put our bags in there and they didn't get wet at all.
