Switching Riders with FP+

I'm looking to get an answer from someone who has been and used FP+ and Magic Bands. I need answers about switching riders.

Using the old system, our party of 4 would go to the kiosk of Fast Track (for example) and get 4 paper FP tickets with a return time window. My husband and I don't really ride rides, so our 2 kids would have their 2 return tickets and ours so they'd be able to ride, get off and get back in the FP line. Is that still possible with the Magic Bands and/or Tickets?

Actually yes you can if you give them your magic bands (or tickets).

yes, at this point it's a workaround. If you want another person to use your fastpass, they must have your band/card to be able to do it. A name does pop up on the CM's screen when you scan your band, but not a picture. I don't know what will happen if you are Sylvester but you give your band to Samantha and it's obvious to the CM that Samantha is not a Sylvester. Not sure they'll say or do anything.

Yea, hopefully they can implement something to stop this practice.

About all they can do is require an ID shown at the scanner. That would really slow things down.

Why? As a family of 4 they're entitled to 4 FPs, but instead of 4 people using them, 2 are. What's the harm in that?

My opinion is that if only 2 in the family want to ride then they should just get 2 fastpasses. Leave the other ones for someone else who wants to ride.

The band can have nicknames on them also, which could be gender neutral. Or would the CM see the persons real name as you scan it? I know two of our bands are marked under 7 in the system so maybe that limits their usage?

They will see the name that is on the bandholder's MDX profile. Not the name that is printed on the band.

I lent my band to a Cast Member, friend, so that she could ride Soarin'. She's been cut out of FP+. I hung out waiting on the benches at the exit, next to the old fastpass machines, cloaked in purple covers. It was like a fastpass machine mausoleum.

One of things I will miss is handing off Fastpasses to strangers as I leave the park. I've given complimentary park admissions to complete strangers. I know, random kindness, the horror.

yea that aspect stinks but you have to remember that now you won't have that extra fastpass and that person can book it themselves.

Not true- they still have the fp because they can't get rid of it. I'm sure many people are now wasting FP+, because the system makes you chose three. If they don't or can't show up for the ride- it's gone.

I would hope that if they can't make it they would cancel it on the mde app. That way if someone were to try and get it at that moment they could.

That is assuming they have a smart phone and don't have to wait for a kiosk and the app actually works! What if they realize they aren't going to make it 5 minutes before the end of their FP+ time, once the time is expired, so is the opportunity- it's not like it goes back into the pot to be used at a later time.

I disagree. Everybody paid,to get, into the park. Somebody should get to use the fast passes.
