We've now decided that while we want to try a new resort we also want to stay somewhere we love WL. While the plans are still up in the air we are looking at AKL or CR first and then switching to WL after a couple days.
Anyone with any experience doing this? Will we miss out on time during our trip due to having to check in/out/and back in a new resort? Also at WL we got a great room double upgrade and checked in about 1pm on a Sunday. Will we still have a chance for a good room checking in during the middle of the week and later/earlier in the day?
BTW - There are 2 adults and 1 child and the time is mid July 2005.
Thank you for any help on this.

Our WL CV room was going up over $100 a night for Friday and Saturday night and no codes available then but the Poly had a GV code of $239. We were advised by CR to go ahead and check out of the WL early that morning and head over to the Poly calling the night before to tell them that we were coming and were already on site. BIG MISTAKE! We arrived at the Poly at 11:30, no room. Checked in and went to DTD, kept checking back, no room. Arrived back at Poly at 2:30 no room , 3PM (official check in) No room, (ours was the only one in the entire bldg not ready
Finally a manager went over to find out the hold up...............they cleaned our carpet
That would be much easier, and give the bellmen my luggage, that way if your room is ready (and many times at the poly it has been), you are ready to check in. If disney moves your luggage you have to wait till the evening to get it, and the bellmen still bring it to you, when your in the room.
Even just changing rooms in the same resort is worth it. You get a different persective.
