Switching Resorts - Logistics

We are doing a 6 night total stay in June. Our first 2 nights will be at either POFQ or POP, with the last 4 nights at the Poly. I'm trying to decide how to handle the day we transfer. We intend to be at the MK bright and early that day. I am planning to let the resort staff handle most of our luggage transfer. My question is: Can I drive over to the Poly early that morning and park our van in their lot, and use their monorail access to go to the MK for the day? Should I pre-check in before heading to the MK? I thought this would be easiest. Plus, I thought it would be fun for the rest of my family to get their first introduction to the Poly by way of a monorail ride from the MK in the afternoon.

I believe it will be necessary to pre-register at the Polynesian in order to obtain a Poly parking pass for your vehicle. Otherwise, you will only get a temporary three-hour pass which will not suffice if you're going off to MK for the day.

On our last trip we switched twice. It was very easy and no hassel at all. However, we moved our own luggage because we had our own car and we didn't go to a park on the days we switched. I would chek in to the Poly and then go to the MK. Your room will be ready when you get back, or should be. If you choose to have the resort move your luggage for you when you get into your room at the Poly you will then have to call Bell services to bring it to you. Assuming it is after 3pm. If I'm not mistaken luggage transfers arrive at the resort after that time.
It seems to me the easiest thing to do would be to check out and have them transfer your luggage, then drive over to the Poly, check in and then hop on the monorail to the MK. You could have your family with you or have them go ahead and meet you at the MK so they can then see the resort for the first time the way you want them to. Via the monorail from MK.
