Just wondering if you switch resorts during your stay, does disney take your luggage to the new resort? We will not have a car? How do we get there? Bus? Taxi? If disney does take your luggage is it usually there by the time you get there or does it take awhile? Any information will do. TYA

Yes .. they do take your luggage to the resort for you.

I would reccommed checking out ... going to a park for the AM .. then going to your new resort around check in time.

We loved switching resorts and it was no hassle at all.

Thanks wdwobsessed. I just posted this. What a quick response. I was worried that this was going to be too much of a hassle. Have they ever lost anyones luggage?

The Grand Floridian lost mine when they were supposed to be transferring it to the BW. They insisted they had delivered all the luggage that was being transferred that day, and they didn't have it. Only after a manager at the BW got involved did they actually look and realize they had put it into storage at the GF. It arrived so late that we missed a dinner reservation. The BW made arrangements for us to dine later, and even drove us to the resort we were having dinner at in their limo. I'm glad we hadn't gone off to a park and found out when we got to the BW at midnight that it hadn't arrived...

I will never have my luggage transferred by WDW again.

Thanks for the info on the luggage. We are switching from CBR to YC, but we have a car so maybe now we'll just throw our luggage in the trunk!

Is changing resorts as easy when you are staying at All Stars? We are DVC members and in DEC will be staying at All Stars, then moving to BWV to save on points. There are 7 of us, so that means a bit of luggage, and we are not renting a van. Is there a bell services I can call at All Star Movies to move the luggage. There is no way we could do this via Disney Transportation.

I know tons of people who have had no problem with Disney switching thier luggage. I'm sure it does happen that it gets lost on occasion .. but that can happen on your flight down. (Probably more of a chance of it.) At least at WDW .. there are only so many places it could be ... lol.

ducklite - How wonderful that the BW made later ressies for and and even gave you a free limo ride!!! I"m glad to see that they did what they could to rectify your situation.

We switch resorts on every trip and love it. Even with small kids who have always needed naps in the early afternoon, it's always worked out. We always have a rental car, so find it easier to transfer it yourself.

The only thing I've heard about Disney transfering it is that they don't gaurantee it will be at your next resort until 3pm, so other guests have suggested taking a sep. bag with you with things that you might need during the day, such as a bathing suit.

We always try to switch on a day we aren't doing a park, but it rarely works out that way. Even with doing parks, it's never been a hassle. We found it the easiest to get up a little earlier and check into the new resort then go to the park. The room isn't usually reading, but they store our luggage and we get it when we get back. This way, they know we're there and they have more time to arrange the perfect room for us if possible.

We switched resorts last trip, and though it was nice to try two different places, I'm not sure we'll do it again. It seemed like it was just a hassle on the switch day. Plus, we had to pack everything up twice that trip, which took a good deal of time.

We might do a cruise sometime, and do that in the middle of two resort stays, but that will probably be the only way we'll switch again. Unless we go over New Years and have to do seperate reservations for the rate seasons.

We have switched resorts on a couple of occasions. Both times, Disney made it very easy. I agree with the enter a park in the am after you check out and have your luggage sent to your new resort. Then return to your new resort after checkin time.

Have Fun!
