Switching resorts and refillable mugs ?

I am thinking about switching resorts mid trip on our next visit so that we can try out a deluxe, but I'm getting hung up on the refillable mug thing. We love the refillable mugs, but I hate the idea of buying them twice for one trip. We are a family of 5 so that would be a lot of wasted money. I know a lot of people seem to switch mid-trip, so I was wondering what you do about the mugs? (I'm not asking about ways to cheat the policies so please don't flame me!)

You would need a mug from the new resort. I have heard on these boards where the CM gave them new mugs but I wouldn't count on it.

Look at the mugs as a memento of your trip.

When we went in December, we checked into CSR. The first day there, I bought myself a refillable mug. Well, there were technical problems with the rooms we were in & they had no other rooms to move us to, so we ended up at YC. So I ended up buying ANOTHER refillable mug. Now I have two. I did not even try to use my CSR mug at YC, as I figured they would not honor it. However, I got plenty of use out of the YC one. Depending on whether your family will use the mug(s) enough will depend on whether it's worth it or not. Considering you can use it for coffee in the morning & soda in the afternoon, you may find that even if you get it both locations, you'll still be ahead. Plus, they make great keepsakes that can actually be used at home.

you should be fine using the other mug. if there is any problem, there shouldn't be any sane person who would hassle you after you explain.

I depends on the resort. At CSR they took only their own mygs, no exceptions. At All Star Music they took any mugs and even ones from years past. I asked and was told the manger of each resort food service decides the rules on the mugs. At all star we could get hot cocoa but not at CSR. If you are only staying a day or two at one resort and only there for breakfast it would not be worth it, but we feel for three days or more it is worth it to us to buy the mugs and each resort.
