I know you Dissers know the answer to this but I am kinda lost. We are arriving for one night, 8/29/07, and checking in AS Sports. The next day (when our tickets begin) we are checking into the WL. Until yesterday we were planning on driving and with a car I had a pretty good game plan. Then we got a great deal on airline tickets so now we are flying and using DME (new to us). Now I am a little concerned about getting from Sports to WL and to the parks. I understand that Disney will move our luggage but where do I get our park tickets? Will they be able to give us our tickets for the next day at AS Sport when we check in or the next morning? Will we have to go to WL to get the tickets/check-in to get the process rolling? Seems that is going to add a lot more time and logistics without a car ie....bus to TTC and then over to WL real early before hitting the park. Any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

We are also checking into Pop for one night before transfering to GF.
You will have to check into WL before heading to the parks in order to get your park passes.

We are planing on taking a taxi over to GF along with our luggage around 7-7:30am, since we have ADR at Crystal Palace @ 8:10am. Checking in at GF and then heading to the parks ... hopefully when we get back after lunch our room will be ready.

We are 1 nite at ASMu then over to OKW.

We were told they will hold luggage at the front area for us and then in the morning arrange to have OKW send a van to pick up us and our luggage. They can arrange this at check in. No taxi and it is easy. Good luck

Ask at check-in at the ASM about your park tickets - our friends stayed with us last month at OKW, and we checked-in, checked-out four times (points and cash ressies), and they kept their room key cards from the first day the whole trip with their park passes on them - didn't matter the key didn't work for the room. They might be able to give you separate tickets as well - just check. Since you have to go to the WL to check in anyhow, I'm sure you can get your park tickets at the front desk as well, so you'll be all set when you head to the parks. Have a great trip!

Thanks Y'all!! I definitely have a plan now. Will give it a try.

My thoughts are this.....if you have to take a taxi over to WL, why not take your bags with you? Then you know it is all there. If you think it is too much of a hassle, then having them bring them isn't the end of the world. When you head over to WL, they will set you up with your tickets etc.

We are checking in for our first night at POP and then heading out the next day to POFQ, we will taxi it with our bags, check in and then head to the parks.

Have a great trip!

Is it possible to get a van as a taxi as we will have 6 people (one in a car seat) + luggage. We are travelling to BWV after one night at either Pop or CBR (we are currently double booked...not sure which one to choose).

Well....we did have a van pick us up when we used a taxi just to go to AK one morning before the buses were running. We didn't ask for a van, but got one, so I would assume you could ask for one.

When I go in October, we will ask for a van.

And all you need to do is go to the front of the resort and have them call you a taxi/van? I was thinking about hiring a transportation service, but this might be cheeper, since we are only moving within epcot resorts.

Our initial plan for our trip this summer was to spend a night at Pop and the rest of our trip with a package at AKL. My plan was for one adult from each room to take a taxi over to AKL early in the AM to check in and get teh room keys/park admission and have the others check out of Pop, stow the luggage and meet us at the park du jour at the appointed time.

We stayed at ASMu one night, then took a taxi to the Boardwalk for the rest of our trip. I think it only cost us $10 or so. So going from ASMu to AKL should be less than that.

To Claud26, not that you asked, but I'm not sure that you have enough time to get a taxi around 7-730am, drive to GL (about 15-20 minute ride) check in, get your passes and then get to MK, enter the park and walk to CP by 810am. You might want to plan on getting the taxi earlier.

We used a cab in April to go from ASmovies to CR. We went down to the lobby to see about getting a cab and there was one right outside (7:00 am). It cost us about $20 to get from AS to CR, but well worth it, we took our bags with us.

This weekend my sis and I are taking our daughters down, we got upgraded to SSR for the last 4 of our nights (package), but not for the room only 1st night (ASsports). We were going to do the same as above. I crunched some numbers and realized with the AP cost of the room, cab fare and postage cost for mailing some snacks to the resort for breakfast it would cost me about $100-$110. I pricelined a car for $109 and we're staying FREE off-site our first night at Sheraton Safari on my SPG points. We don't arrive into MCO until 9:45 that first night anyway. So now we'll have a car to run to the store to pick up some snacks or drive to the parks form SSR, if we feel the transportation is an issue....

Enjoy your trip!

IMHO, I would look for a good deal and rent a car. We drive down to WDW, and just having the car makes life so much easier for us. Every once in a while we take a bus to a park, and then we are usually quickly reminded why we like to drive to the parks. Sometimes the waits can be significantly more than if you were to drive it yourself. Again, just my opinion!

Exactly what we're looking for BrianD!! More opinions, hence more options.
Thanks!!!!

I, too, would consider renting a car/mini-van. You can easily stop @ the grocery store for snacks/food to keep in your room (saves you $ from buying @ resort gift shop), drive when desired to the parks (we normally do this for the convenience), leave later to return to airport for your return flight, etc.
