Switching names on a reservation?

Good Morning everyone. I hopefully have a quick question. I'm traveling with a party of 14 people. In the party we have my best friends, her husband, and 2 children. The rest of the people are from my family and husbands family. I had made reservations for Chef Mickey's at 8:35am on one of the days we are there for 8 people. I know I said I have 14 in my party, but our friends will most likely not be dining with us to save money. Well with that said I know they might be interested in a character dining experience. I was thinking I was going to cancel our reservation because to be honest I can't eat breakfast that early. So for my plate it would be a waste of money and this would also be the second time we would be eating there anyway. I was thinking since I have the reservation if I could just switch the lead name to my friends. They are early birds so I'm sure they'd be ok with eating that early. I was just wondering if this was possible or if anyone has ever done it before? TIA for all the help!

Sorry. Disney won't switch the name on the reservation. If you want your friends to use your reservation, they'll have to give your name when they check in.

Ok thank you! I appreciate the very quick response!! I thought about just telling them they were me, but I couldn't remember if they check the names or not. I'm not cancelling the reservation yet because we may just decide to go with them instead of my family. It's so early in the a.m. for my family that honestly... other then my hubby and my kids no one else is gonna be up lol. Thanks again for the very quick response!

There shouldn't be any reason for them to check the name on a Chef Mickey's reservation. You don't have a prepaid reservation and there isn't a no-show fee, so you won't get a fee assessed on your credit card if they decide not to show up.
