I accidentally posted this on the Sea World section instead...would love replies, thanks!

(Also - is there enough to occupy a 22 month old for more than one day at US or should I figure one day would suffice?) Thanks!

Rachel

PRIOR MESSAGE:

Hi,

We're in the beginning planning stages for hopefully going to US in August of '10. (I REALLY HOPE Harry Potter will be open then!)

We did Disney a few years ago and want to make this a separate trip. When we go our son will be 7 and our daughter will be 22 months.

While there we also plan to hit Sea World, Aquatica, and Busch (we will get in free to those parks because we'll have premium Sesame Place passports next year.)

I was thinking of spending 2 nights at RPR, 1 or two nights at Nick Hotel and the other 3-4 nights somewhere further south on I-Drive. Does this make sense? Has anyone hotel-hopped and is it a good plan? I was thinking we wouldn't need FOTL access for the days we're not at Universal, so we'll get the 7-day unlimited and just do whatever. Input welcome.

We're thinking of driving down from NJ so we'll have our own car, btw.

RPR looks SO NICE!!!

Thanks,
Rachel in NJ

:thumbsup2Hi Rachel,

Your 22 month old will have play areas to occupy her time more than rides. In US there is also a Barney show and a play area that is great for someone her age. They also have 2 water play areas close by the Barney show for her. In Islands of Adventure there is Suessland that she will enjoy. There is a caro - Suess- el ride, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish she may enjoy, and another interactive play area there.

As for the hotels, is the reason you want to hotel hop to save money? You want to be close to the areas you plan to visit that day? Or just let your kids experience the different hotels? I have never hotel hopped more than two hotels one a trip. Personally, when I vacation I want to plop my bags down and not have to repack, or unpack again until I leave, I'm lazy that way.

My advice to you is, if you plan to hotel hop, save RPR as your last stay. You will be totally spoiled there and never want to leave. Plus I cannot tell you how much my children hated having FOTL access to rides at US/IOA and having to go to another park and wait a long while to ride the rides. I would save the RPR/FOTL access for the end of my trip because you will really be able to relax when you get there. :thumbsup2

BTW.........I'm in PA and when we drive down a perfect place to stop is Florence S.C., it is almost midway, the hotels in the area are almost all new, and you can hop on and off 95 easily. Have a great trip!!!

when you stay at the onsite hotels, you can take the free shuttle to aquatica, sea world, wet and wild.

if you want to go to busch gardens, the hotel has a bus, like the tour busses.
the only charge for the shuttles are for bg.
it has been $10 per person for round trip.

the beauty to that is you go in style and have comfy seats and don't have to deal with driving and parking.
if there are 3 of you, the $30 total would be worth it for the ease and comfort factors.

i have done the change hotel before and it's not on my priority list as much as it used to be.

so much down time in checking out of a hotel and then checking into another hotel, especially if you have to wait to check in.

if you are doing it for the money factor, that is a different issue.

good luck and have fun in orlando on your trip!
