Switching from BC to Swan?

We currently have the Beach Club booked for a weekend stay in September. I just got an email from the Swan & Dolphin with a great rate and am considering switching to the Swan. We would save about $300 for the 2 nights. Would you switch? We've never stayed at the Swan before so for anyone that has stayed there recently, what are your opinions of the Swan? Thanks!

You can do a lot with $300 - the rooms in the Swan are smaller than average - but other than that it is a very nice hotel IMO.
I would pick those over the Disney "deluxe" hotels in most cases.

If you are not spending a lot of time in the room or taking advantage of the beach club it may be worth it - but you do loose magic express and if you are driving you have to pay to park I believe - over and above whatever the current resort fee is (that is over and above your rate)

once you add in all those fees - is it still worthwhile to you?
For me the magic express makes the Dolphin\Swan less attractive

I'd switch in a hearbeat for that price difference -- the room size is negligible -- 21 square feet smaller, same location and every bit a deluxe -- the Swan is a Westin.

If money is no object, then stay at BC for Magical Express, and more Disney-related perks. If money is an issue, or if you can readily think of something to do with that $300, then switch. The Swan is far more luxurious in terms of bedding, pillows, mattresses, toiletries, & shower heads than any Disney hotel (GF included) could ever hope to be. As previously pointed out, it is a Westin. This, by the way is coming from someone who worships the BC from top to bottom, but if we're really talking about the quality of the goods that make up the room....Swan all the way.

I'd switch, we were at the Swan in March and loved it. Make sure that $300 includes the $20/night resort fee and $18/night parking if you are driving. I've found lots of times when I'm comparing after I've factored those costs in, Swan isn't any less than either YC or BW if WDW is offering a discount.

And if you aren't driving, be sure to account for airport transfers. Both ways should still be under $300.

We love the S/D. Nobody can guarantee that you'll like it or won't regret moving. But I think if you open your eyes to all the amenities they have, and plan to use them, you might surprise yourself with how much you enjoy it. It will be less "Disney" inside, but chances are you'll still have some nice views outside your window, and maybe even a little deck to sit out on. The pools are nice, the gym, the spa, the beach, the Cabana Bar, etc. Also Picabu's is open all night long, and there is room service if you prefer.

Good point. Both the WDW Swan and Disney's Beach Club Resort earned a 4-Diamond rating by AAA.

Thanks, everyone! The savings of $300 did incorporate the fees that the Swan charges as well as transportation back to the airport (we will be at the WL at the beginning of the week, so we will use DME on arrival).
