We have discounted Delta tickets that state there is a $100 charge to make changes to them.

Has anyone ever changed theirs and not had to pay this fee?

I checked Delta.com and it looks like both our flights that we currently have booked are full. But it would be nice to fly down a couple of days early :)

The airlines will not waive the $100 fee anymore. What they don't tell you is that if the new flight you change it to is more expensive that the original flight you booked, you also have to pay the differance in fare in addition to the $100 fee (which is per ticket, so if you have 2 tickets, it's $200).

If you do decide to change, find out the cost FIRST, before you actually change the ticket and have it charged to your credit card.

Getting that fee waived is next to impossible. Sometimes if you have an emergency they will waive it, but....

If the airline makes the change, you can switch for no cost.

US Air changed our departure time from MCO (originally scheduled to leave at 1:30) to 2:00. Because they made the change, I was able to switch our tickets to the 11:45 flight with no additional fee. I wish they would change our flight down as I decided I want to leave earlier.

On the same note, a friend of ours was supposed to fly to Jamaica for her honeymoon this past Sunday but found out at the counter they she did not have the right birth certificate. The airline switched their flights to the following day, out of a different city at no charge. I'm sure a tearful bride unable to go on her honeymoon melted the ticket agent's heart but it shows you they can waive the fee if they want.

my mom gave me a ticket my sisters niece ws supposed to use last year.

they took the $100 fee off the value of the ticket so the ticket was worth $110.

then they took the $110 that was left and put it on my other ticket!!!

I walked out there paying $67 for 2 round trip tickets on Midwest Airlines on top of yet!!!
(still it helped that my mom gave us the ticket)

I thought the way it would be done

I'd have to pay the fee up front and they'd change the name and then I'd pay the regular price for the other ticket which would'nt have been bad
;)

I have no idea how they came up with this.
It's like getting one ticket free and over %50 off the other one!!!

I don't know what the Bride had, but you need a certified copy of your birth certificate. If you show up with a photo copy, that won't work.

What is a not right birth certificate?

Her birth certificate was from the hospital; not the original birth certificate from the county. The hospital certificate even had the raised seal but the ticket agent would not accept it. Fortunately, they found the original county birth certificate so all was well - they just had to leave a day later.

Makes me think I'll go get passports for our family!
