Switching Discounted Offers on Package

If I add free dining to a reservation, is it possible to switch to a room discount offer if Disney releases one for my dates? A room discount is more beneficial to me than free dining. I am looking at travel in mid October so I think it is unlikely that there will be a room discount.

I did just receive a discount offer for Aulani so you never know.

You can try to switch to a different offer but there is no guarantee your dates/respprt will be available. I believe you understand you would be swapping from free dining to a room discount. It's worth keeping an eye out and determining which is best for you at the time.

Yes, I understand l would be swapping the special offers. Free dining is better than nothing, but it really doesn't move the needle for me. The room discount is a better option. I just didn't know if it was possible to switch at all. Most likely there won't be a promotion since it's fall.

You can usually switch without issue, assuming the inventory is there. Worse case (sometimes it's glitchy and won't change it over), you can just book a new trip and cancel the original one, assuming you're far enough out to get a refund.
I often have a few trips booked for the same timeframe until we decide where we want to stay or how we want to manage it (free dining vs room discount etc). I then just cancel them as we decide, super easy.

I've had a wonderful cast member on the phone who was able to switch my "package Bounceback" to " room only bounceback" . I believe she did have another cast member involved in the transaction.

I have had issues dropping days before on bounceback and higher ups had to get involved. I appreciate you sharing your experience. My concern is adding free dining then not being able to take advantage of a room discount IF it becomes available because I added free dining previously. We tend to eat light at Disney.
