Okay, so dummy me apparently can't read a calendar and I'm now having to switch my trip dates from starting 10/3 to starting 9/19. I've never been to WDW in September, so this will be a new experience.

I'm guessing that I can expect the following:

1) The parks will be less crowded, and probably crowd levels will be comparable to my usual after New Year's trips :woohoo:

2) The weather's going to be hot and rainy. In fact, there's a good possibility that I'll be riding out a hurricane in a hotel again. And I'll have a chance to get up close and personal with some very affectionate bugs that will hitch rides on me but not bite me.

3) Since I can expect comparable crowds to January, I don't need to worry about ADRs for this trip unless I end up deciding on character dining. :)

Does this sound about right? Anything else I should be aware of?

Partly right.

I love September at WDW. But. I really don't think the crowds are probably as low as January...especially that last week of September when Food & Wine starts.

And...even though the park crowds are the low, the restaurants are always PACKED due to free dining.

Your 180 is tomorrow. Start thinking about those ADRs.

1) The parks will be less crowded. Absolutely.

2) The weather's going to be hot and rainy. Yup. In fact, there's a good possibility that I'll be riding out a hurricane in a hotel again. Not necessarily, but you will be traveling during hurricane season. And I'll have a chance to get up close and personal with some very affectionate bugs that will hitch rides on me but not bite me. I think they're kinda cute, myself. ;)

3) Since I can expect comparable crowds to January, I don't need to worry about ADRs for this trip unless I end up deciding on character dining. :) Oh no. You will be smack in the middle of free dining. ADRs, ADRs, ADRs!

Anything else I should be aware of? Maybe you can attend a MNSSHP while you're there!

Does the free dining affect counter service at this time of year? I want to do a few full service restaurants anyway, but I'd like an idea of what I'm looking at in terms of crowds for lunch.

I need to look into the free dining thing. I get a steep hotel discount with several off-site properties, but if the food's free at WDW it might come close to balancing out.
