Switching ADR with another family

We are at WDW at the same time as my friend's family. We both have ADR's for one night and would like to switch. Do we formally have to do this or could we just show up and use the other's name?

Depends...if it is someplace other than Cinderella's you should have no problem just saying you are the other person! Cinderella's does require an ID.

Whe I have switched with another DIS'er or just given a ressie away, I have always called and changed it. I am more comfortable with this, because I am the type of person who would be mortified if the family that was supposed to us was a no-show for a ressie with my name on it. Since they are friends of yours though, it probably wouldn't matter. Unless either one is a ressie with a cc guarantee and then I would call.

Thanks. It is a good friend and we are both currently in WDW. She has Kona and we have Ohana, same night and time. It is just so hard to call and get through to WDW Dine while on vacation to officially switch.
