I made our ressies for 3 studios for my birthday trip in Dec. at the 7 month mark. We would love to be able to switch to this ressie to BCV. We currently have Dec. 8 - 11, a Fri. through Mon., at SSR. What do you think our chances are of being able to switch to 3 studios at BCV for a 3 night weekend at the beginning of Dec.? If I waitlist, what do you think the chances are all three studios will come through? We can only switch if we get all 3 studios. Opinions please?

At first I was going to say no-way because it is early December and we know how busy of a time that is. But then you mentioned it is a Fri to a Mon, so I'm not so sure. I think you may have a problem getting Sunday night, especially since you need three studios and the BCV is such a small property.

I would call and inquire what is currently available. If two are, then I'd book them and waitlist for the third. However, if none of them are available, I would suspect that getting three studios on the waitlist is not likely. Do you own BCV so you can book now, or will you have to wait for the 7 month window to book. This will also make it more difficult to get three villas.

I already have the 3 studios reserved at SSR. Member Svcs told me I could start calling back on 5/11, the 7 month window, to check availability for 3 studios and waitlist if necessary. I can only switch if all 3 studios become available. If it were only one studio, I wouldn't worry so much; but trying to get 3 for the same time may be tough. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

I don't think that Fri/Sat would be a problem - just be prepared to go to the SSR on sunday.

have them make your reservations on a day by day basis - not the entire time - also have them do it automatically - if they have to call you back each time you might just lost that day....

I'm not sure what you mean about booking day by day. Since I'm using all my points up with the current SSR ressie I already have booked, wouldn't I need to cancel that first to free up some pts before booking BCV ?

I don't want to have to change resorts for just one night. It wouldn't be worth it to me to move 2 families from studios at BCV over to SSR studios for one night. I think my DH would flip if I told him we need to pack up and check out and then check in somewhere else for one night. He doesn't deal well with that sort of thing. It has to be 3 nights at the same place.

If moving is a big deal for you, then wait until 5/12 and try to book all three studios at the BCV and keep your fingers crossed.

Many DVC owners tend to book stays of Sun-Thurs nights to avoid paying the higher weekend rates so that would normally make it a bit easier to transfer to BCV at 7 months. However, that particular weekend may be an exception. There is a big DIS meet across the lake at Jellyrolls that Friday night (Dec 8th) and Mousefest is also going on that weekend (December 7-11) with a big meet planned for Dec 9th. So, there may be more DVCers than usual at WDW over that weekend. A lot of the time DVCers will move to other resorts for the weekend but since the Jellyrolls meet is an evening event, I think a lot of people who own at BCV or BWV are opting to stay there so they can walk home after the meet.

I do hope it works out for you. And you should consider attending the meet at Jellyrolls on Dec 8th! Here's the link for the meet: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=980214
