Switched to YC.. tell me I will like it!

We switched from CR (stayed there last year) to YC. We are excited about staying somewhere new, but now I would like to hear all about it.

Do they have a food court with refillable drink mugs?

What are the choices for early morning coffee? I can't see myself dashing over to the Boardwalk before we leave each day.

We have a water view, what is a good area to request (hope for)?

How are the rooms?

Anything else you can tell me about the resort and pool?

You are going to love it. The YC is one of my favorite resorts. I am going in November and couldn't get the YC so I took the BWI which is nice also but the YC rules. The pool is great, almost like a minny water park, you are going to fall in love with it. The rooms are great, cheerful and clean, I wish I was staying there

You're going to love the YC!

All the rooms at YC have balcony's as oppossed to BC and are very nice. SAB pool area is the best on property! It's like a mini-waterpark with a few separtate pools. It has a sandbottom pool with quick sand, a lazy river, a kids shallow beachy pool area and areas with hot tubs and waterslides.

They have refillable mugs in your room on the mini-bar which you can use at Beaches-n-Cream Soda shop! YUMM! For soda,cofee in the morning,etc. You can get fast food & ice cream there instead of having to go over to BW - although BW bakery has really yummy muffins You'll also have room service available and of course, the regular resturaunts like YC Galley and Cape May Cafe' at the BC.

Thanks to all who have responded. I am getting really excited about the Yacht Club.

What section of rooms should be the best? We have a water view and would really like to see which would be best. (ie. what not to get!)

beaches n' cream is no longer open in the early morning, it opens at 11 am for lunch.
you can grab a quick breakfast in the lobby of the BEach CLub, very convenient to the YC, a 2 minute walk through the corridor.
here you can also fill your mug w/coffee.
during the day you can fill your mug at either beaches n cream or Hurricane Hannahs at the pool (storm a long bay)

a water view room can be either lake view, storm a long bay view or quiet pool view. definitely request "lake view"

YC is our favorite resort, but quick coffee/breakfast is a drawback. There is no where you can fill your mug yourself -- I don't find them to be nearly as good a value there as the other resorts we've gotten them at. BTW, if you want a mug, you'll save a dollar or so by buying one at Hurricane Hannah's or Beaches and Cream instead of getting it from your room.

We stayed at the YC two years ago after three consecutive stays at the CR. We found the hotel to be very nice and clean, the pool area blows away the CR. The only issue we had because we are HUGE MK fans is the time of travel to the YC. The fact you can monorail or walk to the MK forced us to make the GF our new home base hotel. The GF has two pools,a new water slide and is within a few minute ride to the MK. The pool area is not nearly as elaborate as the YC but if we want water rides we go to BB or TL.

the yacht club is the better of the two(bc/yc)--we loved the steak restaurant there and the "clubby" feel--although we have 4 kids who loved the pool we much (all six of us) preferred the GF---the bc/yc complex is just too crowded and messy (with people and alL) we just didnt care for the layout--nighttime walks from yc/bc are great tho--you can walk all around the lake--the overall feel is "waterparky"--your kids will love it-transport to places is a bit complicated too--you just cant not have a great time tho---no matter where you stay--the better and great coffee bar is downstairs in the Yacht club side--enjoy!!
