We were booked at POFQ, but had to switch to CSR to take advantage of the free dining offer (POR was sold out). After MONTHS of research on POR, I feel like I am totally starting over, reading info about CSR! :) We booked a water view room and now I'm trying to decide which building to request. The Casitas really do appeal to me the most, yet I think the kids would like the Cabana section, having the sand and hammocks. In the pics I've seen, the cabanas look kind of like run down beach shacks or something --do they look better in person?

There are a couple of hammocks by casitas. We were in casitas 5 (we had requested 4). It was great... right by bus stop number 2(the first pickup and drop off). Casitas 4 has the health club and a really nice, larger quiet pool. We were about halfway between the main pool and el Centro. my only complaint is that the pool and food court are not near each other, but there was some cs food at the pool. We really liked the beds...comfortable and duvet covers.

Everyone prefers different themes, but I really thought CSR was very pretty, especially at night. We were on the top floor and really lucked out.... We could see some of the fireworks from MK and Epcot.

We stay in Casitas 3. There is a quiet pool, gym and laundry in between Casitas 3 and 4 and it is about an equal distance to the main pool and El Centro. The Cabanas are nice as well but we prefer the Casitas.

First, LUCKY YOU to go to CSR.

Second, Cabanas are wonderful! It is not at all like "run down beach shacks".

Third, you're close to the Dig Site and to the main building. No matter where you end up though, it's just beautiful there.

We had a water view room, and had a gorgeous view of the quiet pool with the lake a little further over the sand/hammock area.

If your equest the Casitas, your only options will be Casitas 4 or 5 (1, 2 and 3 are "preferred" and must be booked).

We have stayed at the Coronado ten times...nine of those ten were perfect (our last visit left a lot to be desired, but that had nothing to do with the resort or CM's...it was the clientele--we were there with the Pop Warner bunch).

We have stayed in Casitas 3, 4, and 5, Cabanas 9A and 8A. We loved them all. Our favorites would probably be Casitas 4 and Cabanas 8A.

The Cabanas buildings are only two storeys if that matters to you. If you book a business class room you will be in Cabanas building 9A and have access to the Cococino Lounge for snacks and drinks morning and night. We have always stayed in the Cabanas section due to proximity to the main pool. I know a lot of people complain about how big the resort is, but I never found the distances to be so bad. YMMV. The walk around the lake at night is gorgeous. I am looking forward to getting a business class room next visit since we probably won't be doing the DDP. It will help with the breakfast thing and being able to grab a glass of wine or something in the evening sounds great. Anywhere you get I think you will like.:thumbsup2

Thank you for all the responses and the pictures were great!! I am still undecided though! LOL! I may just request Cabanas 9A and Casitas 4 or 5 and see what happens. Is it a long walk from Casitas 5 to the Dig Site pool? I'm also leaning more towards Casitas so that we can be the first pick up on the bus loop. My mom cannot stand for long periods of time, so I'd prefer to get a guaranteed seat on the bus. Would we have to worry about that at the cabana section?

The Bus Stop at Cabanas (Bus Stop 4) has benches and is covered. I believe they all have benches so your mom could sit while awaiting the bus.

There is everything you need to know about the resort and some amazing people there that can answer questions for you. I absolutely loved the resort when we went for our honeymoon last year, and will be back next year. Truthfully no matter where you end up it will be gorgeous, you just need to figure out what you want to be close to. Each section has a quiet pool, but the main Dig site pool. Check out the list of bus stops and where everything is located and decide what is your priority to be close to.

All the bus stops are covered and have benches like that. (I think that is the case at all of the moderates actually) We got on the bus in Casitas and never had to stand. At least when we were there, it got where people had to stand if they got on at the last bus stop(and then it was just a few people). That's "stop #1" at el Centro. So, you may not want to eat and then get on the bus, so your Mom won't be stuck standing all the way to the park.

You can google "csr map" and see where the buildings are in relation to bus stops, food court and main pool to help you decide what to request. I think it took us about 3-4 min to walk from Casitas 5 to the main pool....of course everyone walks at such varying paces, I'm not sure if that is helpful (we are a family of runners).

We also really liked the quiet pool that is by Casitas 4. It was pretty large compared with others we've seen. That just took about 2 minutes for us to get to it.
