Switched to a flight with no seats?!

I finally just called Delta and they switched us from a one stop in CVG with only 57 minutes to change planes onto a non-stop (BOS to MCO), yeah! BUT when I checked our confirmation on line I found we can't pick our seats because there are none available to choose from! Apparently we will get seats at check-in. Does this sound bad to anybody else?

No happens all the time don't worry you will get seats.

You just cannot be assigned at this time. Worst case is when you get to the airport and there are more people checked in then there are seats, they will ask for volunteers. Rarely do they need to go down to the involuntary route because people are willing to accept the free vouchers/cash.

I think this would be pretty rare, if anyone will be upgraded it tends to be those with airline status.

I flew on a flight with Delta when a family got on last and the open seats where scattered so the flight attendance started playing musical chairs with the single fliers till they had a few seats together. I think you'll be ok.

I used to work for Mexicana Airlines (two months ago), so my advice: get to the Airport early, the ones who check in early, are the ones who get the seats.

We booked a few months back for our April trip and they have changed our seats four times already. I keep getting notices through my email and keep printing them off. I'll have a nice little booklet when we finally go! I will do the final check with them in a few weeks when it's closer. There are a few things on the reservation that aren't matching up but I'm trying to stay calm.... deep breaths...

I agree. My DH's family flew on Delta to visit us last month and they ran into the same problem with not being able to get seats assigned until they got to the airport. They made sure they were at this little tiny airport with on runway 2 hours before the flight instead of their normal half hour before the flight. They got seats.
