HI! We just decided to switch from Poly (my dream resort) to Pop due to cost and for the chance to stay longer. My dd's will be 7 and 4 at the time of our trip. I know they will love it, but I haven't had the chance to research it. How many pools do they have? From what I've seen, it looks like one, but I have to ask. Any 'inside' tips you could give me? Can you choose which building you stay in? How large is it? I hear great things about the bus, so I don't have any questions there.

Thanks so much!!!!

Actually, they have three pools. One is in the 50's and is shaped like a bowling pin. One is in the 70's and is shaped like a flower. And the last one is in the 80's/90's and is just square. All of them are massive and fun!!

No big secrets as far as I know, I'm sure you know that there isn't any TS dining at POP. But the food as still been fine and in my opinion, when it's not totally crowded, the food court area has a pretty fun environment. You can request to stay in a certain area, but I've heard mixed things about that actually following through. I know that I've heard a couple different accounts where if you have a disability they give you a preferred room. If you DO request an area, definitely request the 60's. It has the best pool and is right near the food court. However, there are some parts of the 50's that are much closer. Whatever you do, DO NOT get a 90's room. The theming for the 90's seems practically non-existent and is SOOOO far away.

And you're right, the bus service is great, we never shared with any other resorts or anything.

Thanks for the info. 90's doesn't appeal to me at all. Both 50's and 60's look great! Do you know what the Legendary Years is? I'm only part way through the Fact thread, but it has been mentioned more than once ("when Legendary years opens...")

Thanks!

The Legendary Years is a part of the Pop resort that hasn't been built yet. And many wonder if it ever will. It's supposed to go from 1900-1940's .

They started construction on it, but when September 11, 2001 came around some issues came up and they had to put the breaks on the project. I think if you look on the other side of the 50's , you can see the parking lot and parts of the buildings that have already been built. It's kind of eerie, looks like a ghost town.

I have a current review in my signature...you will love it!

Make sure you check out the shadow boxes in the lobby. There are so many trinkets from the past and it's a great way for your kids to understand what you grew up with (or without). Take all the time you want. It's a bit wierd in that the shadow boxes are in the lobby and there are benches in front of them so some people might be sitting there waiting to check in. Just excuse yourself. My husband and I spent at least a half hour just on the shadow boxes.

This is the best choice for your family! We loved POP when we went last Aug and couldn't believe we hadn't chosen to stay here sooner!!!! I would pick it over the Poly any day and I've always wanted to stay at the Poly, too. It's just such a fun and lively resort with so much to offer. You'll really enjoy it!

Unbelievable! Thanks so much for leading me to your review. We have settled: Pop it is! I feel better about the decision every day. I know the kids will love it. Poly is really for "me", and this trip is all about them. I appreciate your review! It's kinda hard to imagine, but I am more excited now than I was before. I think it has alot to do with extending our stay, and knowing how much the girls will love Pop.

:thanks:

I would make the same decision if it affected the length of stay by even a day. We loved Pop! So cute!
