We have a little mermaid room booked with dining plan. With the free dining offer, we can switch to caribbean beach resort pirate rooms for $108 more for the whole week. Would you?

Like the pp, I would also switch. We've never stayed at AoA, but we loved CBR. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are bigger, and the main pool has a slide.

Having just stayed at CBR for the first time yes, absolutely, I would switch. Bigger room, bigger beds, quieter more relaxed resort. TS restaurant, really nice pool area. We watched Illuminations (and could hear it) from the bridge by OPR. Lots of little beach areas with hammocks to chill out and relax. I could keep going but CBR has much more going for it IMO than AoA.

Great. I made the switch but then was starting to doubt my choice. My kids need mellow time and I was fearing aoa wouldn't give them that but seems like c br will. Is the bus situation that bad with all of the stops in the resort? Also, do you know about how long walk is to food court from Trinidad south? We don't mind walking but will have a 3 and 6 year old :)

The pirate rooms don't have queen beds - they will still be doubles there. I would still switch, because for that $108 difference, you'll be replacing one of the quick service meals with a table service. That's well worth it right there. Plus, as others have said, the room will be bigger, and you'll get a slide at the main pool. The AoA is a great resort, but I wouldn't pick a LM room over a moderate, especially for such a great price.

I would switch. We love AoA, but we stay in the family suites. I'm not sure I would like the LM rooms as much. They feel pretty motel-ish to me. We looked at CBR for our next trip and would have done it if it hadn't been cheerleading time. I think it looks really beautiful and relaxing!

The upgrade to the regular dining plan alone would make it worth it, especially if you do some character meals.

Just a guess on my part, but with the difference being only $108 for the week, I'd assume that the op is already upgraded to the standard dining plan...therefore not "gaining" TS meals.

We were in the same boat...but it was still a no-brainer to upgrade to the moderate over the value.

The bus situation is very exaggerated. We are going on our 11th trip to CBR. Has never been a problem with buses.

Disbuckman, yup we already were on the standard dining plan at aoa. I wasn't very clear about that!

Glad to hear the bus situation isn't that bad!

That's what I figured...we did the same thing last week, upgrading from POP (with the upgraded dining plan), to CSR for $115 difference.

The bus situation at CBR is fine...stayed there last year during spring break (very busy time) and had no problems with the buses whatsoever.
