heading to MK early next week. I know my boys and husband would love this attraction. I have seen on several different outside reputable bloggers that this attraction was supposed to be completed way back in September. It's still closed. Any word on when this will be ready and hoping it will be during our stay there.

Thanks!

thank you....ugh after our vacation. What is your website reference may I ask?

It was supposed to be open on our trip 2 weeks ago but it wasn't. :( I know a lot of people think its outdated but my kids had just watched the movie for the 1st time and were excited to go see it again. They love dreaming about having a treehouse like that!

It was closed when we were there in July. We were so bummed -- so now we are going back in May!

I'm a self admitted Disney apologist and love pretty much everything WDW has, but this is one I just don't enjoy. Never understood the point. It's a good aerobic workout, but for us it's not a lot else.

Who is the Swiss Family.... ;)

I always marvel at what the cost must be to keep that attraction open. But yeah, kids and treehouses just go together....

I call it "Stairs: The Ride." I suppose that kids like it though, even if they don't know the source material. I'm actually surprised that Disney hasn't remade that one yet.

For some unknown reason, my 9 yo son loves the treehouse and has since his first trip at 4 yo. Every year we go through it at least 3 times. Who knows why certain things appeal to kids, apparently someone at WDW...

Grown up adult pushing 60 and I still love it and so does my adult son. We both loved the movie and both read the book. My only complaint is it's hard to stop and actually take in the details because there is normally someone behind you wanting to just do the climb and not stop and look.

I do think it odd that they added another month of refurbishment to it. I wonder if they are replacing more of the stationary objects in the rooms than anticipated. I know they took the facade tarps down for the hurricane, but that would have been a small stoppage in work.

There were workers in the tree on Monday. I didn't look long enough to tell if they were working or taking stuff down.

seriously?! i thought it really wasn't a very popular attraction to have a FP queue.

I'm no spring chicken so when I was a kid (maaaaaany moons ago) we used to pick our rooms and daydream about living in the treehouse. We thought that would be the ultimate thing to do. Then again, we played outside every day, climbed trees, built forts, played pretend Wilderness Family, and lived the adventures of our own making. I think it's awesome that your kids watched the movie. We have it on DVD, too. My boys both enjoyed it when they were little and I'm sure we won't miss it when we go again. Then again, I'll go to the Tiki Room and sing along happy as can be.
