I had friends who went to Disney in March and saw a sign posted at the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House saying that this attraction was going to soon be Tarzan's Tree House. Anyone know if this happened? If not, do you know when this might occur? My son is a huge Tarzan fan...we're going the first week of November and I was hoping it would be changed over.

I certainly have neither seen such a sign, nor heard about any plans to change the theme of the treehouse. I think someone may have been confused or pulling your leg.

I was there in May and saw no such sign. I will tell you that my sons ages 10 and 8 and myself found it to be one of the most boring attractions ever.

I like the SFTH, but I can see how it could be boreing to some children.

It was still SFTH back in May when i went to WDW. It changed to Tarzan's at DL in 1998 or 1999 ~ maybe that is what you are thinking of? To be honest, I found the TTH to be very boreing - it's only in the movie a tiny bit, whereas the SFTH, they live there! Tarzan doesn't live in the tree house! Now George of the Jungle, esp. Brendan Fraser ~ I'd visit that tree house any day!:p

I heard it was going to be closed during our trip in the middle of September so may be they are re- doing it.

I have to admit that the treehouse has never been a favorite - whether as a child or an adult - although I do kind of like the view. Last year I visited the Tarzan tree house at Disneyland and have to say it's not really all that different... certainly didn't jazz things up at all.

Gotta agree with doombuggy, though... maybe a nice, wax figure of Brendan make for a great photo op. Um, for the kids. Yeah, for the kids. that's what I meant.

I have a soft spot in my heart for the Tree House, but it's probably due to my fond memories of the movie, which I saw when it was first released in the theaters, back in about, oh, 1802.

I also have a soft spot for the treehouse. When I walk through it I try to imagine how it would feel to live in a treehouse like that! I love all the intracacies of the treehouse in the movie and would have loved it if it had been me! Especially with James MacArthur there too!

My sons and I enjoy the Treehouse. Last trip DS9 went through it at least 5 times.

I enjoyed playing in treehouses as a kid, bit SFTH always bored me. I haven't made the climb since the late 70's.

I think re-working the SFTH with a Tarzan theme could be a great idea, if done well. The attraction certainly could use a facelift. That and Tom Sawyer's Island were probably our biggest disappointments during our last trip to MK.

The tree house became a skip me attraction after the first visit for our family. It could definately use a makeover for us. Also, along the same lines, Tom Sawyers Island became a skip me attraction (don't mean to offend anyone, only our opinion). Theres just nothing going on at these attraction, but i understand that some people like some relaxing attractions.

The SFRTH at DL was coverted to Tarzan's Tree House a while back. I guess Disney figures that most kids today don't know who the SFR was, but they do know Tarzan.

Having been born in 1960 in South. Calif., I virtually grew up in Disneyland. The appeal of SWR Treehouse was what I have always loved about the Disney "land" experience. The Swiss Family Robinson movie was our POTC. Walking thorugh the treehouse was taking out of the real world and putting you into the experience.

Clearly many feel different. Including my kids. My DD12 and DS14 act like two dogs being dragged into the vet. "Uh, that's okay dad, we'll wait for you down here...you go ahead."

I miss the old SFR treehouse and Tarzan was a real disappointment for most veterans who visited it at Disneyland. Please don't get me wrong- I love change and encourage Disney imagineers to progress...but what is next re-imagining the Disneyland castle and Sleeping Beauty story?
