Both my girls have it at the same time and I'm just sitting around waiting for me to get sick. Everyone stay healthy if you can!

I hope they're better soon. I went to the doctor with a 104 temp on 9/10, and I'm still at home. The coughing is getting better, but I'm still running a low grade fever. Doctor said it has to be gone for 24 hours before I can go back to work. Tamiflu was a great help though. It really improved how bad I felt overall.

My husband hasn't caught it, so maybe you'll be as fortunate as he has been! :thumbsup2

(P.S. The ironic thing is that I was the one in charge of the anti-flu initiative at our school!)

I just made a VAT of Chicken and rice soup. It's the first thing my little guy(4) has been able to keep down. And after eating that he ate some bread. Saying I made "magic soup" that made his tummy better.

So anyone want some magic soup?
Hoping everyone is feeling better soon!

Hope the kids feel better soon and you don't get sick.

You know for sure they have H1N1? Around here everyone's been talking about doctors not testing to see if it really is swine flu. Sounds like they don't care what kind of flu it is, since they treat it the same way. I don't know, for some reason I think I would want to know exactly what I had.

Well, I guess I can't say I know for sure, since KY (and most other states) aren't testing for H1N1 unless you're pregnant or hospitalized, but she was tested for type A and type B flu. Type A came back positive, that is the type for H1N1. My doctor told me that means he is 99% sure it is H1N1 since there are no other types of type A flu going around to his knowledge. The regular flu right now is type B according to him. So I guess I should post I'm 99% sure my girls have swine flu, close enough for me and about as positive as I can be.

You are correct that the treatment is the same for each type, but since my oldest has asthma there is more of a concern with the type A and he immediately had her to start her nebulizer every 4 hrs.

Oh, I hope you don't think I'm calling you out on the swine flu thing. I didn't mean it to sound that way. I just was wondering if they were testing in other areas to know for sure since they aren't doing it here anymore. Sorry if I said something stupid, I do that occasionally. ;) And again, I hope your girls get well soon.

Currenrtly, I'm caring for my 2-month DGS (now day 6) - his parents and toddler brother are just now getting over the flu which they caught at a wake. My son-in-law got tamiflu and his symptoms were much lighter, DGS has had lung issues so he is on tamiflu, prednisone and a nebulizer!!! They wouldn't give my daughter tamiflu because she is breast feeding (pumping and sending the milk over to me for the baby) and she has struggled with temp, body aches, cough, runny nose; of course, she is run down from lack of sleep and breast feeding. We hope to send the baby home tonight ...

Please if you begin to feel bad get the tamiflu, especially young people...

No problem, I sounded short in my reply and truthfully, I was. Me and the girls have been in the house since Saturday except for doctors visits and my oldest is just feeling better enough to start sounding like a bratty preteen again, instead of the momma's baby she had been the past 2 days.;)

Just got back with younger DD who tested negative Saturday night. Doctor told me that the test is no more than 70% accurate and that she has it and since she wasn't on tamiflu she is actually feeling worse than her sister even though she's had it longer. He just started her on tamiflu, antibiotic as a precaution (sinus and lungs are bad) and an inhaler (she doesn't have asthma). Here's hoping we all stay safe during this horrid cold and flu season!

Hope everyone that is sick feels better soon!

I can't believe how early the flu season is starting. I'm actually considering for the first time getting a flu shot for all of us. I'm not doing the H1N1 shot as I don't feel like being a guinea pig but considering my son has missed four days of his first three weeks of school I don't want any more days off for illness.
