Scenario: Your 6 year old has all the symptoms (along with a fever of 102') of swine flu. You also have a 10 and 14 year old who were obvioulsy exposed. DO you keep the siblings home from school and away from the neighborhood kids or do you let them attend school and play with the other kids afterschool until they show symptoms?

I voted to continue to send them wherever. Chances are they MIGHT get sick but they might not and it might be 2 weeks before they get sick-when will you know if it is ok to start sending them out in the world again?

I'm a teacher and the week ds13 had swine flu last spring, I called the principal in each of the buildings I work in to see if I should come in and they all said yes.

I think if this flu was very deadly, then yes, keep the siblings home but not as it stands.

I could see REALLY missing a lot of school and or work. The schools here are saying (well, suggesting is probably the right way to wrod that) to keep sibs home. I know people just will not/can not do that.

Back in June when the swine flu first showed up in our area dd came down with it. Although we were all exposed to her, not one of us got it. I continued to send my other kids to school while she was home sick.
