We have signed up to swim with the Dolphins in the Grand Caymans. Does anybody have any input or advise? I hear the photo package is pretty pricey!

I've done the dolphin swim at Cabo so it could be different...but the photo package tends to be quite high. And at least in Cabo they did not allow non participating guests close enough to take pictures. The pictures are great but If you want the package be prepared to pay at least 300. It's an amazing experience though. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

GREAT experience and while they technically allow you to take pictures, you cant really see anything with the way it is set up. Honestly I would suggest this, this is what we did and saved like 50% on the excursion.

Book independently, do not go through Disney. That way you get off the ship in port, take a taxi (and there are taxis waiting for you at the port dock that charge $4/person anywhere on the island), and go to the company that is selling the Dolphin experience (forgot the name). They have a large boat/ferry that takes you to the island. After the dolphin experience, there is a ferry from the island that takes you back to the mainland and it drops you off at the save pier as the Disney ship is at!

As to saving money on the pictures, I would just get all the pictures/video on a thumb drive (they sell that). The thumb drive is locked to prevent you copying pictures/video but some basic computer skills can get you past that. Save a ton of money that way.

ummm ... there is no pier in Cayman .. you tender in ... and there are no 'small islands' near. Little Cayman is 100 miles away. And $4 for a taxi in Cayman won't get you out of the parking lot!

Possible you have your ports cornfused? Are talking about Cabo while OP asks about Cayman?

We purchased the observer package for my husband. They made sure that we were in the pool closest to him and he took a TON of pictures. The angle wasn't as good as the professional pictures, but the price was much better.

Does anyone have the list of picture packages and cost for the blue lagoon dolphin encounter? Trying to budget for it.

We paid $125 for the photo package, I think. It came with all our pictures and a set of pictures from around the island. We LOVED this excursion, and the pictures are great! We also brought a go-pro so we have a bunch of videos from it too. They let my hubby wear the go-pro. He wore it on his head.
