We are going on our first Western Caribbean Cruise in June. We have two kids ages 10 & 7. The kids are really interested in an excursion where they could swim with the dolphins. I saw one excursion listed in Cozumel where you get to interact with a dolphin. Is this the same thing? Does anyone who has been before know of the best excursion to experience Dolphins? Thanks for the tips!!

misty9960- Whichever way you book your dolphin meeting in Cozumel you'll wind up at Chankanaab Park. The Disney excursion is only an encounter, you stand in check deep water on a platform and you touch the dolphin. If you book directly you can have your choice of the same dolphin encounter, only cheaper, or a couple of other choices. We did the Royal Swim, you got into the water and did interact with them. If you book it yourself you can take a cab from the pier to the park its 10.00 each way and it costs 10.00 for each person to enter the park too. Disney just builds this into their price. The park is a great place to spend the rest of the day snorkling and swimming. You can check their site out here and even book yourself from their site

Did you enjoy this? My kids are only 5 and 7 so too young for the swim but we could do the encounter. Sounds like fun let me know if it was.

we did the dolphin excursion thru disney...we got the ferry in the morning and were taken to Blue Lagoon Island...from there we got lunch (disney gives you tickets for that) and then we went back on the ferry at like 2 and then went to the bridge tour at 330...which was really cool! after that we tracked down all of the freebies that we got coupons for at the jewlery talk...thats how we saw naussa...
the excursion was awsome! I think it was BF's favorite thing! Mine too!

We just did the Dolphin Swim in January at Chankanaab park. We booked the actual swim through shoretrips.com. We were very happy with their service. Besides us (4) there were only 3 other people put with us. To get all of the details you could find my trip report (by RKB 1-3-04 Western). We loved it. It is definitely for swimmers. My 10 year old son did fine - even got a ride from the dolphin. Don't forget to bring money to buy the video tape!!
