I'm seriously considering swimming with dolphins, but the cost is the major drawback. I've found this website which seems fairly reasonable. A two day tour, including transportation to the Keys, gator and snake handling displays, food, accomodation, time on the beach, a steak barbeque and other meals. It costs $300. Has anybody done this trip ?

And yes, I do realise that Discovery Cove is cheaper, but when you throw in the other features it seems quite reasonable.

Hi
I Have also been thinking of doing this, there another tour operator which offers a similar tour Access usa real florida excursisions. www.wereusa.com There prices are $299 for adults and $279 children, the children need to be over 7 to swim with dolphins. The swim is with Dolphin plus, and they stay at the Marina Del Bayside at key Largo.

When are you wanting to go? because I would be intrested in any feed back because we are not going till next year.

Jem,

I'll be there in April. By the way, I can't open the website.

I haven't been there before but it looks good to me, Sid.

We are swimming with Dolphins at The Dolphin Research Centre during our trip next March. We joined their 'Sponsor Member' club so that we can book one day before the public. They only allow you to book four weeks in advance. We're doing a day at Discovery Cove too (but just the standard none dolphin swim package). The Dolphin Research Centre costs $155 per person. It's seven hours from Orlando, so we're staying the night before in key Lago (Key Lago is an hour away). But driving the seven hours back afterwards!

Richard I think Im right in saying that at least one person in your party has to do the dolphin swim, at discovery to be able to purchase the non dolphin swim tickets.

LOL Richard:p

I know what you mean, weve done it before and enjoyed the day, and wanted to do just the park for the day, but the dolphin swim is how discovery get their money after all!!!.

DH has opted to do the non dolphin swim, whilst me and DS will, im hoping that we get a better member of staff this time, as ours was rude and blunt(DS is hearing impaired and couldnt hear what he had said!!), and he didnt have alot of patience!!.
So hopefully second time around it will be better.

Couldnt you get one of the members in your party to do the dolphin swim, so you can all get in for the day?!!!

That's an idea, Jules! However, I think we would all fight over who gets to do the dolphin swim! ;)

I could see if there are any 'strangers' going one day whilst we are there and they could add us to their booking as non-swimmers and we could pay them and then they could pay DC for us?!!!! Sounds a bit too confusing though...!

Richard. :)
