We were thinking about going to WDW this October because I heard it was not too crowded and not too hot, but will it be warm enough to go swimming? Being from Montana we have a very short window for swimming and would to take advantage of all the pools.

You can swim in Oct. Its usually low 80's sometime warmer.

and went swimming in December (the first week). Went this year the week before Thanksgiving and it was too cold. What this tells you is...you never know in Central Florida! I would think you would be able to enjoy swimming and the water parks in October without much problem.

Enjoy!!!!!!

Yep! We were there last year in Oct. and there was only 1 day that I wore jeans...I only wear shorts when it is HOT. I even had to change out of the jeans and into shorts 1/2 way through the day. My inlaws were with us and they went swimming. The pools are heated.
Have Fun

We live in Florida and still swim in October. My friend's in-laws are from Seattle and come down here for Christmas and go swimming. I personally think they are nuts because the water is too cold for me. October would be fine for you though, especially if the pools are heated.

We were there this past October for the two middle weeks and it was COLD! The weather was great for touring the parks but we froze when we attempted to swim. We stay at the Poly and that water just wasn't heated well enough to feel comfortable. We go every October at that time and have had about half of them where it was too cold to swim. I've heard that the season changes in Florida some time in October and it's thje luck of the draw when that happens.

For the past two years we have gone during Columbus Day week and swam as much as possible. No problems for us, plenty warm...hot infact!

We were there last Oct. 1-10th and swam every day, and most evenings we would take a dip also! The first couple of days were overcast with drizzle in the upper 70's/ low 80's. The rest of the week was hot! Mid to upper 80's!:bounce: We loved early Oct.! In fact, we already have ressies at BCV for the same time period for this year. Our school has a fall break during that time! :Pinkbounc

We were there this October from the 17th - 26th and the weather was fantastic...mid to high 80's the whole time and no rain. :) Perfect weather...heat but no (or very little) humidity...a few nights got a little chilly (just threw a sweater over our shoulders) but it was definitely swimming weather during the day. To me, it's a perfect time of year to go...great weather & low crowds.

You can absolutely swim in Florida in October. We're complaining right now that it's in the 60's in January (ducks to avoid being hit by people in the North East).

Duck all right ;)...it's a balmy 10F where I am today...and that beats the -35 we've been having lately. ...60F sounds like a tropical dream to me today. :)

As Pete said earlier you can swim in October. Sometimes there is a bit of cold weather that sneaks in but most of the time swimming is not affected.

This year it was mid to high 80s most of the time in the last half if the month.
