We just booked a week at Beach & Yacht Club Villas for the last week in January. My kids will want to try out that awesome pool but will it be warm enough?

It could be!!

I have gotten 30 degree and snow in Nov (thanksgiving week in 2006) and heat waves in January.

People still swim!!! No matter what the temp is. Have a great trip!!

It's the same here in Louisiana. I was hoping the water wouldn't be too cold from nighttime temps. Hopefully it's going to be nice and warm that week so the kids can enjoy the pool. But if not, we'll still have a great time!

I'm hoping for a warm winter in Florida since my family and I are going in December and we want to go to a water park... are the water parks open?

Typhoon Lagoon is closed December for Refurbishment. Blizzard Beach is scheduled to be open 10am - 5pm every day in December.

We always go in January for the marathon and it is always hit or miss. One day you need a sweatshirt and the next it is 85 degrees. Sure doesn't make packing easy, especially with all the new fees/restrictions!

If a kid sees a pool most of them don't care about the temp...I know I didn't!!

Very iffy. It's probably going to be warm enough, with heated water, for the Minnesota snowbirds to think they're in heaven. But with Louisiana blood you might feel chilly--especially if one of those January cold snaps moves in with temperatures around freezing. Bring your suits and keep your plans flexible.

The pool temp will probably be warmer than the outside air...a couple of years ago my wife and I had SAB to ourselves for about an hour as the air temperature was below 60 one day in late January (we were fortified by a couple of hours in the Crew's Cup!).

We stayed at Boardwalk in January 2007 and were able to make it to the pool one day and it was nice and warm out. We stayed at Beach Club last January and there we spent at least 2 afternoons at the pool. There were several other nice afternoons we could have gone to the pool. It is definately hit or miss but I think that you usually will get a few at least days that are warm enough.

It all depends what your tolerance for cold is. As a Florida native that's never lived further north than Georgia - it has to be at least the mid-80's before I'll think about going in the pool. I'll wear a sweatshirt in the evening at Disney when it drops to 70 degrees in June! :lmao:

We were at WDW in January and even on the warmest day I would have been miserable in a pool - but there were plenty of kids (and adults) swimming. :thumbsup2

We were at the pool and the life guard asked if we were from England; I said New England, why? The only people in the pool in January are the people from England....the only ones who can tolerate the temperature. Being from a Northern state does matter, the heated water felt fine, just have your towel ready when you get out!!!

We have been there in Jan. when it was 20 degrees! Then this past January we were there, and it was 85 degrees! You just never know. We always take a wide variety of clothes and dress in layers.
