We are staying for a whole week in december early leaving the 7th. And we decided on the hopper pass with water parks and more. I know that only 1 water park might be open and thats okay. But should we plan on swimming everyday or is it going to be too cold to do the water parks and are hotel pool often:confused: Thanks

Hi,

Winter weather in Orlando is completely unpredictable. You could have warm days (80s) with cool mornings, or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. Or you could have a little of both, or something in between.

My advice is to pack a little of everything (including swimsuits) and if you get a warm day or days, take advantage of them and go swimming! And yes, the hotel pools will be open.

We went in December one year. My kids used the resort pool almost everyday, but we are from SD and used to colder weather. A lot of the time my kids were the only ones in the pool. We had no desire to hit the waterparks, tho. The weather was definately never "hot", and many days it was borderline "warm". The Christmas decorations were fabulous, tho!! Have a great trip!

We went last in December of 2000 and baked the entire time. We thought that even though it was FL, jeans and teeshirts would be fine. Yeah. By the end of the first day, we were scouring for shorts to buy and wear.

Sorry, tangent. On to your question. We stayed in the Port Orleans hotel and the pool's heated. Even if it wasn't the weather would have been perfectly fine for swimming. Bring your suits! :)

December is really unpredictable as someone else stated. I was a CP in December and some nights, it would be warm enough to swim. Other days you would need a heavy coat during the day...so it just depends. Bring your suits and also jeans and a sweatshirt or jacket. Keep an eye of the forecast before you go.

We were there in December 2006 right before Christmas. We made the mistake of packing jeans, sweatshirts, and no swimming suits because we're from Washington and we heard that Orlando can be chilly in December. Well, that was a big mistake. It was so hot! It was in the 80's at least every day and we ended up buying my daughter a swim suit so she could go swimming every night. I don't think I wore a sweatshirt once and since we didn't bring that many hot weather clothes, I had to do laundry twice and we were only there for 7 days! Have fun.:rotfl:

I was there this past December for a few days. Talk about wacky weather. It was in the upper 80's the week before I got there.
When we arrived in Orlando on the 17th it was 34'. We wore our winter coats all day with our jeans. By that night we added hats and gloves to watch the Osborne Lights and Fantasmic.
It was slightly warmer the next day. I was in a light fleece and jeans.
The day we left we were in T's and jeans. We probably could have swam that day but, I never would have went in the pool the other two days.

We are going this December and plan on taking a little of everything. Jeans, sweatshirts, shorts, T's and swimsuits.

Thats funny because we left that morning and you are so right on how cold it was. The whole week before was perfect weather and we swam every night. On MVMCP we did wear jeans and brought sweatshirts but for the rest of the trip it was lighter clothes and shorts.

thanks you so much for all the replies. I will make sure that the whole group knows to pack alittle of everything. Thanks you though it helped give me an idea:goodvibes :rotfl:
