Swimming at resorts in late October?

We originally were scheduled to stay at Movies and POFQ, but now found a good deal for the Beach Club. My only thing is I would want to use that awesome pool and I'm not sure we would be able to near the end of October. Is it warm enough to still go swimming?

It usually is! But you can get weird weather anytime. We were there last October and a freak cold front moved in- high of 60! A little too chilly for us to swim (and we're from Buffalo!)

Then, we were in Orlando late February this year and it was above average temps- 86- we had a magnificent pool day.

We were also at WDW the end of October last year and hit that same freaky cold snap. We had really looked forward to spending quite a bit of time at the pool, but it was never warm enough to really enjoy the water. But the weather was fine for the parks.

We were at the BC the third week of October in 2015 and spent every day at Storm Along Bay. It was great for swimming, with temps in the mid 80's. So you just never know what kind of weather you will get at the end of October. But the hurricane season is usually over by then.

We must have taken both of our trips at the same time. We were also in Disney in late February and hit great weather. :)

Thanks for all of your replies! I think we might switch over to beach club. We were going to go in February and rent points at beach club but we aren’t feeling like we want to go back that soon after October.

Absolutely. We swam on our Christmas/New Year's trip a few years ago. Actually, I swam in Connecticut on October 5th, my birthday.

You can get wonky weather anytime in Orlando but we've spent time in the pool in early December so I think October is a much safer bet. I'm just hoping for swimming weather this year as we're going to be at the BC ourselves between Christmas and New Year's. We've never had time for swimming in SAB when we've stayed there before and we're hoping to be able to do it this time as we expect times when the parks are too busy and we want some downtime.

We have had swimming weather in mid-November but also on the same trip a day or 2 needing jeans and sweatshirts. October should be ok but one never knows when it comes to the weather.

Sounds like the weather we are having here. It gets warm, snows, melts, snows again

When we went the last 2 weeks in October 2016 I think the average temps were mid 60s-mid 70s.
We found the pools cooollld. The kids didn’t mind it mid day but forget early or late. The pool at Beach Club was warmer than the pool at Portofino Bay.

Its usually fine for swimming (during the day) in Oct. Weather is usually great. Sure it can be predictable. But normally its perfect for swimming. At night though it might be a bit chilly for swimming though. Not sure if you enjoy night swims.

We just booked our beach club stay for October 26-30!! I told dh I’m swimming no matter how cold it is because we may not be back anytime soon.

We’ve used the pools in October and November. You will love Stormalong Bay the Beach Club is a beautiful resort. They have the prettiest outdoor seating area behind the Marketplace-perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee!

We've swam in December and January so yeah October should be fine.. pretty sure all the pools are heated

We booked a standard room and I’m really hoping we don’t get a view of the top of the building with gravel.

It is usually fine but you never know with weather. We traveled in early November for many years and always swam most of the trip, even hitting the water parks a time or two. We love the BC and SAB. Have fun!
