I need some advice. We are thinking about going to DC taking our 3 children(6,7 & 10) to swim with the Dolphins. We will first be going on a Disney cruise which stops in Nassau, and they offer swim with Dolphins at Blue Lagoon. The price differance is huge, I know DC is a park offering different things but the main reason for DC is interaction with the Dolphins. I am going in January so the weather is also a concern (warmer in Nassau than Orlando). Has any one done both?? Is DC so good that I should bite the bullet and do the Dolphin swim there and not Nassau.

One reason that I am going to DC rather than doing a dolphin swim in Nassau is because DC is much more than just the dolphin swim, There are a number of other activities to fill your day at DC: the aviary, the snorkeling, etc. The price also includes lunch, and a complimentary photo (I think). I am also planning in using the 7 day pass to Sea World that is included with DC.

I would agree with NCRedding. It is a whole day experience, and I loved it so much that I have actually gone twice!

We swam with the dolphins at blue lagoon last year and loved it. This year we have a cruise booked and DC for after the cruise. We figure if we were to book a dolphin swim, plus swimming with the sting rays and everything else on the cruise that it would cost as much or more then a day at DC. not to mention we will get seaworld with it.
Like the other poster said, yes it is expensive but how many times will we be doing this. so to us it is worth the expense.

We were going to go to DC as part of our "once in a lifetime Florida 2004 holiday" but then decided to offset the cost of that against a cruise and do the less expensive dolphin swim in Nassau.

My advice would be, if you can afford it go for DC but if doing DC will mean losing out on significant other parts of your holiday then go for it in Nassau.

If you do the Dolphin swim in Nassau stop reading DC posts on the DIS and don't look at their website, that way you will never know what you missed at DC!

I would dearly love to visit DC but the idea of a cruise at the end of a very hectic 3 week disneyfest was too much of a temptation, I am sure the dolphin swim in Nassau will still be a fabulous experience.

Regards
Mel
