hello well my 3 yo daughter is taking swim lessons and she loves her swim teacher. well he wasn't there today so she asked this girl i know where is mr. hunter? well he was on a vacation and he will be back tomorrow the other teacher told me that mr hunter thinks that my daughter is just the most precious little girl and that when he has a little girl he wants to name her my daughters name!! well i was wondering if i should get him a gift? if so any ideas?

First, check the policy with the swim school as they may not permit gifts other than at holiday time.

Second, since it's not a holiday gift or 'back to school' gift or a 'thank you, I'm moving up gift' it might be a little awkward for the swim instructor.

Rather than a gift with monetary value attached, it might be better to have your daughter make him a gift. Have her draw herself swimming and then frame it for the teacher. Of course the picture may need a bit of explaining on your part, but if the swim instructor is really smitten by your daughter he will treasure such a gift.

My daughter loves to make cards and drawings and crafts for all her coaches/teachers and they are always so happy to receive them.

Hope this helps!

I have never thought of giving my children's swim instructor's a gift. I guess its because they are only in their class for 2 weeks. When they are in school, I definately show my appreciation at back to school, holidays and end of year.:goodvibes

My kids have taken a swim class in the summer for the last 4 years. This year, they had 3 swim instructors for one month of classes. They were young college girls. Each year, at the end of the swim class, my children make each of them a homemade card and I put a $10 gift card to Target in there for them. It is not much, but my kids always have so much fun in class, and they are young kids saving for college. Maybe it will buy them a little makeup or something small. I do know that they love the cards, so maybe just a card from your daughter would make his day.

Yes, it would definitely depend on how long your child swims with the same instructor. At our swim school, my daughter has been swimming with the same 2 instructors for almost 3 years. If it was just a weekly rotation then I would think differently about a gift.

thanks! im going to let her draw him a picture and frame it and also get a thank you card!!:)

My husband just asked me this question last night! Our 3 girls have been taking lessons for the past two weeks & their insuctors are great but I wouldn't think to get them a gift. I give end of year gifts for their teachers but I wouldn't htink to give something to the swim instructors.
