Has anyone ever spotted a grown man who wanders throughout WDW decked out in Wiggles clothing (backpack and other items as well)??

If you're interested, I have more details...we named him "Swiggles" (I'll save the reason for another post). He's a legend in our family stories now.

OK, but brace yourselves... :rotfl2:

He's a grown man, about 35-50 (hard to tell) who is decked out in just about anything you could imagine related to the Wiggles - shirt, backpack, shoes, hat... We gave him the name "Swiggles" because (brace yourselves...this isn't a pretty picture folks) he was dripping sweat on a very cold Magical Express bus. Sweaty + Wiggles = "Swiggles."

Our first thought was that he was possibly either involved in the television program, or that he had his own personal challanges... We dismissed both thoughts, since he seemed like any ol' tourist, travelling with who we presumed to be his elderly mother, and was in charge of their travel arrangements.

I'm putting out the call for information on Swiggles - someone must have seen this guy and know the true story. Curiosity is my only motive for asking - definitely a unique gent.

Maybe I'm being too sensitive, but from what you've described it seems like this person probably has mental problems and a bit insensitive to make fun of someone like that.

Absolutely not the case - though I understand your concern. He was completely in charge, attentive to his mother and very capable - I was behind him in three places (we seemed to be on the same route towards WDW for a while there). As I mentioned, from a distance we considered the possibility that he had a possible mental disorder, but we quickly dismissed it upon closer contact.

There's no doubt that some questionable judgement was used in his choice of clothing, but I considered it "quirky" or - some might say - "Over the Top Disney" rather than any mental disorder.

In closing, please know that this incident occurred six months ago, and I have hesitated in posting the story, fearing that someone might assume he had a mental disorder. If there was any possibility that he was anything other than an offbeat tourist, I would never had made the posting...

That's the funny thing. He was decked out, head to toe in Wiggles-wear, yet he had this serious "I'm not really enjoying myself" look on his face. Perhaps he was smiling on the inside? :goodvibes

Very curious indeed! :scratchin Maybe he just wanted to try and get reactions out of people? :confused3 And I hope he was smiling on the inside! I happen to love the Wiggles and they always make me smile!

Hmmmmm, hasn't Greg been out for a while with a hernia repair? And if I recall correctly, he sweat quite a bit during the concert.....did this gentleman have dark curly hair? Maybe Greg was taking his mum to the world and she made him wear his costume....could explain the "not smiling" look. ;)

I would agree that you are being overly sensitive. I did not think for a second that OP was making fun of anybody.

I have not seen this gentleman, but you might be right about the "Over the Top" part. Just like the guy with the tatoos. He does not have mental challenges, he just loves Disney.

I know I loves me some Disney. :thumbsup2

Swiggles didn't have dark curly hair, but a crew cut (beneath his Wiggles hat). He sort of resembled Drew Carey, in appearance, thought probably a wee bit heavier...and much sweatier.

I am very interested in hearing whether anyone else had a "Swiggles Sighting!" He was on our Magical Express bus that dropped us at CBR on May 10th, but he stayed on until the next resort (which one that was, I can't remember).

Just search your memories for a guy with a red Wiggles jacket/sweat suit, Wiggles baseball cap and a wore a child's size Wiggles backpack (there may have been Wiggles shoes as well, but we were too stunned and shocked to look).

Nope - just really curious as to why you seem to care so much.
