My cats litter boxes are in the utility room, which has a tile floor. Even though I have a litter "tracker mat," the cats still manage to track some of the litter onto the floor.

Would a swiffer vac be good for picking up the stray litter?

I would recommend the swiffer sweeper for kitty litter.. I use my swiffer sweeper instead of a broom on all my tile floors. I have two, one for my house and the other for my motorhome. Hope this helps.

My cats get way too much litter on the floor to use anything but a regular vacum (or broom & dust pan). I even have a litter mat in front as well but they still track a ton out. I am forever vacuuming the floor. They lucky I love them so much! Lol...

I'm tempted to try the Swivel Sweeper for cat litter.

Long ago, I used an ordinary, inexpensive stick vac which was OK. But, now I'm convinced that cordless is the only way to go. I have a Hoover Linx (cordess stick vac) that is awesome and I use all the time on my wood floors. But, it is expensive if picking up stray kitty litter is your only reason for getting one. I want something like the Swivel Sweeper - that I can keep in the cats' room all the time.

I liked it in the beginning, but then, slowly, the battery began to stop holding a charge. I know that's normal, but it seemed to happen within 4-5 months. I just didn't want to keep buying Swiffer Vacs every few months, so I decided to invest in a Dyson dc35. It has a lithium ion battery. I've had it for almost a year, and it's still going strong.

I have 2 dogs, and I use it just about every day in my kitchen/foyer to clean up the dirt and dog hair. I have laminate floors there, but I've used it on ceramic tile and berber carpet in other rooms. It is great for quick vacuuming jobs. I also like to use it in the cars.

I love my swiffer vac, but can't recommend it for stray cat litter. It picks up 99% of what I want it to, but that 1% is indeed cat litter.

My battery took about a year to die out so I bought a couple more batteries and it runs great again.
