Sweets and Treats

rice krispy treats - got them at MK candy store and Captain Cook's at Poly last trip
Boardwalk Bakery
ice cream bars in shape of Mickey with chocolate covered ears
gingerbread cookies from Norway bakery (although that was couple years ago and haven't seen them since)

Yum!

Here are my faves: (not in any kind of order)

Dole Whips in hte MK (They are great on a hot day AND you can only get them at WDW, Disneyland, and The Dole Cannery in Hawaii..I've had 'em at all 3!) Yum!

Ghiradelli's @ DTD
Their Smore's Sundaes are to die for! I Love the hot fudge and gooey marshmallow plus the choc. dipped graham cracker :cloud9:

The Fudge is pretty good..I like the creamsicle fudge (orange/vanilla) the cookies and cream is good as well

The Oreo Bob Bons at Cape May Cafe Clambake Dinner Buffet. They're oreos with a cookies n cream mousse on top and enrobed in a chocolate ganache.

The ice cream at the scoop shop at the BW had very good ice cream, too.

One word--Kringla!!!! from the bakery in Norway. When we there in December, I had 3 kringlas in a weeks time. :earseek:

WDW treats....one of my favorite topics! ;)

Mickey shaped rice crispie treat with chocolate ears - can be found lots of places. I always get one at the Main Street candy shop and the candy shop in MGM.

Cheesecake brownie from the boardwalk bakery

German choclate cookie from germany

Almost anything from the france bakery!

cinnamon sugar almonds - I think we got them near Pirates.

I love Dole Whip floats from Magic Kingdom.

I also love the big thick cookies that you get at the candy store in DTD that is next to Earl of Sandwich. I always thought they were made on-site, but they also sell them (in packaging) at the Main Street Confectionary in Mk. Luckily the package includes a website so I can have them shipped in a pinch!

I can't leave without a fresh, hot, buttery bucket of popcorn in the souvenir cup! It's a steal at only $4, or something like that, and comes with a great hard plastic bucket with lid.

I'm a sucker for movie theater popcorn, which is just what this is!

I also love the shaved ice in Japan =)

We finally went to the BoardWalk Bakery on this past trip and had a coffee cake. It was in a small loaf pan. it was about 4"X8". It was only $4. It lasted us 3 days. Great for a quick morning snack before heading to the park. Probably the best value I have ever seen at Disney

Thank you everyone. I think I gained 4 pounds and got a cavity just reading all these... LOL YUMMY YUM YUM

Our favorites,

Mickey Bars
Stickey Mickey's

Dole Whips are OK to me, but I love the Dole Whip floats.

Chocolate filled eclairs at ther pastry shop in France;

Also enjoying a final ice cream from the shop on Main Street in MK as the park empties. We grab a chair, people watch and await the "kiss good night" from the castle.

Quick ?, I may sound so stupid but what are dole whips? Also how much are most of these snacks, would an ice cream sundae in dtd be around $10 or so? I'm gonna have to bring ALOT of spending money for snacks and sovieners.

I have heard this mentioned a few times. What is the the "kiss good night" from the castle?

School bread from the bakery in Norway. The peanut butter chocolate cake from the Boardwalk Bakery...

The "kiss good night" happens about 30 minutes after the park rides close, when people are still millling around Main Street, shopping or exiting the MK. A last stanza of music plays and lights flash about the castle in concert with the music, until the last note, whereby the castle gives a "kiss" or flash of light before going into its revolving color scheme.

Its sort of subtle, and unless your looking for it, this activity may seem like just more background music and lights, but its kind of cool to watch...lasts about a minute and very few know what it is.

How sweet! I will have to catch that for sure. Thanks so much!

cheerdancer- I am not sure about the prices. But some of them are listed on allearsnet under menus. Here is a link... It might help with some of them. And I am not sure about the dole whips, but I know they sure seem to be popular. They are made with pineapple and beyond that, I am not sure.. :)

Dole Whips.

Dole Whips are similar to soft-serve ice cream, although they're non-dairy. You can order plain pineapple (my favorite), pineapple and vanilla swirled (DH's favorite) or pineapple and chocolate swirled (sounds strange to me, but I know people who love them this way). You can also get pineapple floats or pineapple spears at the stand where Dole Whips are sold, Aloha Isle.

Oh yummy. I want one now... LOL
Thanks for the description!
hmmm.. Oct is so far away....

While I am looking forward to a Dole whip, I can't believe nobody mentioned CREME BRULEE as a favorite WDW sweet!! (Check out the creme brulee thread in this section). I know it probably can't be found as a 'counter service' item, but creme brulee comes in a myriad of varieties.
