Hello,
So seeing the cupcake thread has me excited to try a few while in the World but here is my question. Are all the cupcakes sickeningly sweet? I am a fan of the not too sweet buttercream icing so has anyone had a cupcake from any bakery in WDW including DTD that fits this description? As an idea I love the cupcakes at my local Whole Foods bakery because their icing is sweet but not so sweet it makes me feel sick:rotfl:

I've heard the cupcakes at Babycakes in Downtown Disney Marketplace are super good and not too sweet. They're also really healthy. :)

Thanks =) I didn't realize there was a Babycakes in DTD. I have heard so much about it but the nearest one to me isn't very near at all:rotfl: I look forward to trying one of these healthy, not so sweet, little pieces of yum:cutie:

im not sure where a great cupcake is, however stay away from the cupcakes in the German pavilion they are way to sweet in my opinion.

not sure I'd call any cupcake a "healthy" food, lol. It's a dessert...not really meant to be healthy. Babycakes main claim to fame is the cupcakes are vegan, and you can get gluten-free cupcakes there too. I have had gluten-free/vegan cupcakes elsewhere...unless you're vegan and routinely do not eat flour...well, I have to say I didn't care for the taste or texture of gluten-free cupcakes. I prefer my butter, dairy, etc. so have not tried Babycakes.

The cupcakes I have had at the various Disney restaurants, bakeries and counter service have all been very sweet...to the point I have never been able to finish one (and I very much have a sweet tooth.)

Not all of them are sickening sweet...but many are. The butterfinger cupcake is one of them....ugh!!

lol I know alot of ppl swear by the butterfinger cupcake but just looking at the picture makes my teeth hurt. I did get the zebra cupcake in AK last year and that sure was sweet. Thinking of trying the red velvet cupcake since red velvet has a cream cheese based frosting typically that too me doesn't usually taste super sweet, though I have never had WDW red velvet so I could be wrong:rotfl:

I love really rich, sweet desserts. But I even think the cupcakes at WDW are too sweet. I can't eat a whole one, it's just too much. Usually DH and I will split on and I'm OK with that.
